My father just died last Thursday, was a wreck when I found out. I've been basically in shock until today where we actually had the services and I had to see him and bury him..
One of the hardest things to do in my life, I can be okay one minute but a complete wreck the other. Any advice with experience from this? It's still just so unreal to me right now...
Cliffs of Dad:
-Mom said he was fine that night around 9:30, was just tired because he didn't sleep much the night before and to bring turkey sandwiches tomorrow because he would be hungry.
-Nurse went in to check on him at 4:30 a.m. he was fine. (he was in a nursing home/rehab center, long story)
-Nurse went back at 5:00 a.m. to give him medicine and he was unresponsive.
-Mom called me to tell me they couldn't do anything for him and he passed away at 6:00 a.m. (im away at school)
-I have so many mixed feelings, this is so unexpected, I was just going to go up and see him next Tuesday
-I wish I could tell him so many things and it's just too late, he won't get to see the things in my life. Me graduating, getting married, grandchildren or anything and it kills me. He's always been there for me.
-Just seeing him at the services killed me, in complete shock that I will never see or hear him again, and the last time I seen him keeps replaying in my head. I was leaving from visiting in the nursing home and he started crying when I had to leave and said he loves me and he's going to do his best to get better so he can come see me at school.
Just a wreck right now misc..

I am sorry for your loss man. I haven't lost anyone that close to me yet so it is hard for me to give you advice. My dad had both his parents pass away 10 day apart from each other and the biggest thing I found out from that is being around your family at this time is the best thing to do. With time it will become a little easier to deal with but obviously losing someone that close is always going to hurt.

Really sorry for you man. My condolences.

Damn dude, sad to hear. I fear the death of family and loved ones more so than my own. Just remember everything he's done for you and taught you.
