Hey all, I started lifting properly the start of this year. Back then I weighed around 150lbs, I now weigh over 200lbs and I've put on little fat. The greatest advice I would give you is make use of your noob gains. Seriously, phuck eating "500 cals over maintenance" I ate around 1000 over maintenance and with time I put on some great lean mass. Eat all you can get your hands on.
Perfectly possible if you never lose sight and are willing to endure any obstacle to reach it. I was one skinny guy, and at first it was slow going, but being part or full Ectomorph has its benefits later on (less fat put on, less effort to lose fat).
6' started at a skinny 135 now I'm consistently 155 with the same low bodyfat %. Instead of cardio I do a lot of core work like hanging upside down sit ups or free running flips. Also found this amazing feeding schedule:

6:00 PM: Protein Shake

I tried gaining weight all my life with no results. The only time I did was unintentional. Worked the afternoon shift. Off at midnight, drink for three hours, eat fast food then go to sleep. Wake up and repeat. Switched to day shift and the weight went away. At my age I should give up trying, but I am motivated to try and look good.
For years I fluctuated around the 140-150 range and just couldn't seem to gain any weight and if I did happen to gain any it would be fat!! Very frustrating but finally made gains last year and I'm sitting at about 174 right now in the 2nd serious year of my transformation.
Takes a lot of dedication, discipline, and desire to bust through the unbearable frustration of being an ectomorph. Keep at it y'all!
Ecto here too. Encouraging thread. Keep with it guys. I was about 155lbs, then gained fat for a while up to about 175lbs. Through workout I've trimmed fat to 160lbs, now I'm adding on the muscle...slow, very slow...but after 5 months of lifting my muscles have toned and my weight is up to 165lbs. It's just takes 4 times as long for us ectos, but work through it. Changing my intake helped a bunch. Breakfast - 2 scoops protein shake and 2 egg whites; Snack - greek yogurt; Lunch - turkey sandwich; Snack - protein bar; Dinner - chicken breast, steak or burger. Snack - cheese.
