Wow OP, thats a lot of citations/stories.
Personally: I'm from Estonia, the most Irreligious country in Europe. (Irreligion is the absence of religion)
People understand the purpose of religion and are well educated about it, but most do not have a set religion they follow.

Im atheist because, the people that tried to teach me, believe on faith alone.
Believing someone in faith about a subject they believe in on faith is crazy.
How can I trust these priests? How can I trust that the gospel is in fact truth?
The whole thing is sadly insane.
Its all sweet and lovely.
The truth is we are here through a series of complex chemical and biological processes.
We die, we rot, were gone.
The sooner you realise you should be a good person just because it makes things easier for everybody the better.
Stay safe

Yeah, we study the stories and the different religions.
For Instance, we understand that Mohammed was an intelligent man creating dogmas to help his own people.
He was a merchant who traveled and had a broad array of knowledge.
He somewhat understood the idea of germs that were causing infections, but couldn't explain it to a group of uneducated people 1400 years ago.
So he'd set up a prayer system to pray 5 times a day, prior to which you needed to wash your face and hands, and make it a religious dogma, so people won't question why.
This would further help peoples life expectancy, increase hygene and people would feel good about doing it since it would be in line with their beliefs.
Just one example of how we would view religion for its purpose and sociological effects, instead of literally incorporating it at its face value.Deadlift: 315 x 6

Was pretty believable brah no hate... How is your decade long cut going?
Something more logical? Come up with another reason as to why there isn't a man in the sky and a dude with a beard performed magic tricks and two people banged in a garden to start an inbred creature that is the human race?
You come up with someone more logical...

I don't really put much thought into it. But I think the reality of the universe and the answers to the big questions (why are we here, how did we get here) are vastly more complicated and magnificent than any stupid priests could come up with. Most people say, there must be a god because otherwise, how did we get here? Well, how did the god get there in the first place. Religion is a very misdirected and simplistic, almost childish approach to explaining things that are much too complicated for our puny brains to comprehend.
That being said, there is value for society to have a bigger purpose to life, for having faith in an afterlife and believing that their actions in this world may have longer lasting consequences as far as crime deterrents and such. This is helpful to keep the dumber, crappy life people of the earth in check- those who might otherwise cause trouble. For me, my life is good and I intend to appreciate my time in this world as much as possible, and I'd much rather accept that the reason for my existence is going to be a mystery for my whole life rather than accept someone else's misguided guesses

I'm agnostic. Not because of the actions of the fanatically religious. People can and will do stupid things and justify them any number of ways, religion only being but one excuse. I am agnostic because I currently do not believe the claims of any of the most prevalent monotheistic religions.
