Hey guys thought I'd share some pics of my progress. What do you guys think? From first pic to last it's around 42lbs. It's been a long 4 months and I hope to keep going. 242lbs to 198lbs, 5'9.
And how much more weight do you guys think I'll need to lose before my man-tits go away? My body seems to want to keep the fat there as long as possible.. damnit.
Sorry for that peace sign thing, I don't know why I did it in my first pic but since I did it there I thought i'd do it again for the second picture... wont do it againsrs.

My manboobs went away around 18%. Great job so far, keep it up. You'll get where you want to go when you get there, and it looks like you're doing everything right.

Thanks guys. My motivation is still pretty high and will go higher when my exams are over. I can't wait for all this fat to be gone haha.
Looking forward to losing the mantits/gut. I'm still at a pretty high BF%, unsure of the exact % but will find out soon. Once I get rid of these mantits I can finally get to wearing nice fitting shirts. I've been avoiding them cause mantits are definitely not something I want everyone to see.former morbidly obese. cutting till death (hopefullynotsrs)

Congrats on the weight lose . At this point, you still have a lot to go before worrying about your bodyfat. Keep it up

kevin471: Great job so far mate.
I also went from 220/240lb to 190/200 in about 4months, at 5'8" height, and thought I would share some tips that will help you out sooner or later or that you might not know off.
The problem for me was that I did it with no weights, so lost a ton of muscle there...
I suggest you start hitting the gym, or push heavier loads there (if your already hitting it), do big compound movements. You will need some muscle on your chest to pull that skin up, else it won't be that sexy
If you ignore the weights, it will take you 1 year to add back some of the lost muscle, with some fat, and then a few more months to get that fat off.
Make sure to oil urself up! while your losing the weight, sounds a bit fifi, but you lower the risk for stretch marks... and those make you look like you were pregnant when your showing off your abs at the beach, and don't go away...
If you start getting lose skin, stop the weight loss for 1 month or so, and hit the gym to add some muscle. You will not lose much weight on the scale, BUT you will add back some muscle and give a chance to your skin to shrink a bit, plus speeds your metabolism a bit (leptin hormone).
Read up on estrogen, there could be a chance that your eating some crap that adds up to much estrogen to your diet, so you get bigger man-boobs than you have to.
Make sure to eat enough protein, if you want to keep the muscle. Protein also keeps you fuller longer, I found I'm not hungry for longer if I eat more protein then carbs.
Keep up the good work

Good job so far, keep at it. It really is downhill from where your at right now. Sure the fatloss will get harder but you will start noticing a big difference in your face at this point which is a good motivator. I'd say take a few days off and then get back at it. You are about 2-3 months out from reaching and surpassing your goals, at about 150-160 you should be happy and will get to go shopping for new skinny clothes.
You need to start lifting though, will make a huge difference. Or switch up to a different routine. I'd look at ripptoe's starting strength or maybe a push/pull split. But in reality whatever lifting routine you can actually get all the way through while being calorie restricted

Good work! As you continue to lose weight, you'll lose weight slower but you may actually see aesthetic body composition changes faster. I'd say there are two ways to lose the moobs: lose another 30-40 pounds of fat OR lose another 20-30 pounds of fat and build some muscle. Keep it up!

Thanks for the motivation and tips guys, I have been lifting since I began proper cutting but I haven't been lately. Will definitely hit the gym harder soon, today was my last day of exams and I'm keen to get to that goal weight.
Also I'll definitely look into which oils I would need in order to reduce stretch marks on my body. Thanks for the tips.
And I hope I have not eaten anything that would give me more estrogen.,
And damn, everybody that has posted has given me a do you even lift-esque post.. ahahaformer morbidly obese. cutting till death (hopefullynotsrs)

I think the weight lifting comments are due to the fact that you don't appear to have gained any muscle mass in your pics. What kind of weight lifting routine do you have?
Its taken me 11 months to lose 46lbs, but I've put on quite a bit of muscle in the process. I decided to go the slow, heavy lift, 30 min cardio route.
I lift 6 times a week, Mon-Chest/shoulder/tri, Tues-Back/biceps, Wed-Legs/Abs, Repeat other days, rest friday. Since you want to make it a weight/cardio session try only resting 30 seconds between sets and also if you can afford it get a heart rate monitor and stay around 130-140. If lifting doesn't get you at that heart rate do something between sets that will get you up there.
I do 3 sets of 10. Increase weight by 10lbs each set. Last set you should only get up 8-9 reps. If you can do all 10 on your last set then you need to up your weight. This routine is good for fat loss/muscle strength. If you wanted to bulk you'd do less reps and 1 more set. Like 4X6-8
Finally its complete BS when you hear that people can't gain muscle while losing fat. I've done it.Starting Weight 255lbs. 2/1/2011
Best weight so far 187lbs 5/1/2012 - Then got a hot gf a boat and gained fat lol...
Starting again for the finish line of 180lbs - 11/1/2012 @ 201lbs

Mainly because:
- a) without lifting (at 65-80% of your max every few days), and without enough protein, you lose ~25% of your energy deficit from muscle.
- b) without lifting (at 65-80% of your max every few days), and with enough protein, you lose ~15% of your energy deficit from muscle.
- c) with lifting (at 65-80% of your max every few days), and with enough protein, you lose ~5% of your energy deficit from muscle, at high body fat levels you might even gain muscle!
1lb of muscle is about 600 calories (~70% water & stuff).
1lb of fat is about 3500 calories (~10% water & stuff).
On a 100,000 deficit (4 months, with ~900 deficit per day), you could have lost:
- a) 41lb of muscle + 21lb of fat = 62lb total
- b) 25lb of muscle + 24lb of fat = 48lb total
- c) 8lb of muscle or less + 27lb of fat = 35lb total or less
Even if c) lost a bit more than half the weight a) did, you can bet hes allot sexier.
Things I should have known when I started 3 years ago...sources from scholar.google.com
Hope this helps.
