What is the best acne treatment (over the counter) that you guys have tried, i want to go buy something but i figured id ask some fellow tteenagers to see what u guys think is the best.

And dont say Pro Active...

The regimen at Acne.org helps me. It has never completely gotten rid of it but that's just because my skin is stubborn as ****, try it. it helps alot.

I have a ****load of acne about 3 months ago now I start using just clear water and put benzoyl peroxide.. it help clearing up fast but leave scars that pisses me the fck off.

accutane. Have not had 1 pimple since I ended my course 3 months ago. Feels good.

Tried proactive, didnt work at all.

I was then on two years of antibiotics (Minocycline, tetracycline etc), then these stopped working.

Im now on (ro)accutane as a final resort and its going great so far! Its also good to know that my acne will be cured at the end of this treatment. All other treatments need to be continued until your acne goes away on its own, which could be years depending on genetics etc.....

Have you tried Skin ID? It has worked great for me. I tried Proactiv but didn't like it.

depends what kind of acne youre talking about.

facial acne is easier to clear up than body acne. also depends how long youve been giving these treatments a shot. what you do now is going to affect acne you have anywhere from 2-4 weeks from now since acne is a slow developing problem, so blemishes you see now were a result of oil build up and infection from weeks ago.

for facial acne, use a crapload of benzoyl peroxide, but get either a gel or lotion since the creams dont fully absorb and will run off your face if you sweat. twice a day, every day, and make sure to wash beforehand. put a clean shirt or towel over your pillow every night to help absorb the oil your face produces and wash your sheets at least once a week. make sure your hair is clean as well since oils and hair products can contribute to irritation to the skin on your face.

try mega dosing pantothenic acid at 3-10 grams per day
a good 30-50mg zinc tablet once a day helps with oil regulation
fish oil may or may not help

fighting acne is a multi step process OP, which is why alot of people say "such and such didnt work for me" when you could have an amazing product but still sleep in gallons of oil buildup. hope it helps

Don't touch your face with your hands either. Will only make your acne worse... unless you wear latex gloves all the time.

by cell tech you mean "cell tech" or just regular cell tech?

anyways, there are only 3 legal over the counter acne products, pro active uses all of those three and jack the price up. if pro active didn't work for you then go see a derm.

Stieva-a. Don't know if it's got any other names but its the same ingredient as accutane but in a cream. 1 1/2 months on it so far and my acne seems to be clearing up a lot.

that makes no sense. acne is strictly hormonal.

This is only if its not hormonal.
My mates would always laugh at me for using a cleanser to wash my face and using antibiotics etc, they would always say "Those are what are giving you acne, just use water to wash your face blah blah". They had no idea.

Obviously improving diet can help a little with acne, but if its hormonal, then its not going to help much.

roaccatane help me alot, but too many side effects !
