Complimented by a stranger at the gym.
Out of nowhere today, I was finishing up my chest/tris workout at the gym and a random dude came up to me and told me that I was making some awesome gains and that I look like a different person than a few weeks ago. I said thanks ... and then went and blazed through 30 mins of cardio cause I was all motivated.
I've never before had a stranger compliment my gains (actually losses cause I'm cutting) before, but it pumped me the **** up!
Any one else ever receive or give a compliment like that to someone that you have never talked to at the gym?

I haven't had a direct compliment, but a guy came up to me and asked me how to do a couple of different exercises he had written down coz "I looked like I knew what I was doing", made me feel good.
Top work on that!

only had a couple of compliments myself from REAL lifters at the gym that noticed i went from hippo mode to semi normal guy mode.There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Yea a few years ago when I was unknowingly doing IF some lady told me I was looking leaner and leaner everyday.
Another time when I was working some little girls walked by me and I heard one of them whisper "steroids" in the others ear lol

the best changes are the ones noticed from compliments. I love the hate i get (like at work), if they are hating I must be doing something right, cause their jelly.

I also received a complement from someone at the gym. This one guy who I would see working out in the gym maybe 2-3 time per week came up to me one day and told me that I had lost some weight and that I'm looking good. He also said that you wont be able to keep the ladies off of you lol. Before every time I saw him we would shake hands and he would say "Whats up big guy" and now when he sees me he says "Hows it going skinny".

Lol yep. Some guy approached me in the wieght room and told me I really changed. Said he's been there for awhile and saw me when I started and that my progress was good. He even hinted that he would wanna train with me cuz I'm the only guy at around his height who wasn't all skinny and had mass and looked liked knew what he was doing.Originally Posted by cnh57811

Happens alll the time. Kid the other day said I looked like a bodybuilder and asked me what I take and stuff. Happens often enough now that it doesn't even mean much and I forget about it a minute later. I remember the first time I got complimented in the gym. I made a thread about it too lol.

an older man came up to me near the end of my workout and said with a smile, "Can you just take pride in your body and stay home? You're making everyone else look bad!"
at first I thought he was insulting me but I got it a second later :P

a PT at my gym told me i've lost quite a lot of weight. I didn't believe him because i've got a lot more weight to lose and i think i still look the same. Then my boxing trainer told me the same thing and i was like fuk yeah. Now i need to get rid of my baggy clothes and buy some more fitting ones.

Said i was looking to gain muscle after losing 80 pounds.
Jaws dropped and a bunch on congratulations were had.
