Hey guys,
has anyone had any experience with the bodpod body fat analyzer? I'm really keen to get an accurate idea of my body fat but I'm not sure if this is the way to go?
Am I better off just getting a skilled tester to use calipers?
Thanks

its more accurate (depending on who you ask) than underwater weighing. With that being said, some old time professors/professionals prefer uw, but anyone can operate a bodpod if they know how to read onscreen instructions. If you live in a big city or around a university with a decent exercise science program contact them and usually you can schedule one for 20-35 bucks (its what we charge). If I'm correct if you follow the protocol and are properly hydrated; havnt exercised in the previous 2hrs; and limit food intake prior its supposed to have a std. error or 2%. This is much more accurate than BIA's (hand held controller looking thing) and skin fold calipers (which have a high user error if the person does not have enough experience). If you are serious about wanting to know your BF% its a great starting point but if you dont have a hookup or cheap route it can get costly!
**EDIT** IF you can find someone that knows what they are doing, to start off I'd go with skinfold, its cheap and more convenient
