I was doing shoulders today with dumbells and overpressing 25kg each nothing to heavy my second warm up set.
My spotter wasnt watching and my arm bent back and I tried to correct and felt a ripping then it felt like the bone popped slightly out then back in not to good.
Question is should I get this checked out or just man up and rest? The pain is not to bad when I rest the arm if I try and use the arm in the shoulder press motion its pretty painfull and I have slight pain in my shoulder blade.
If it was serious would I be in more pain? I just dont want to do more damage.

It was heavyish but not my max on a normally shoulder day just went up slighty the wrong angle with my arms to0 relaxed and 25kg bending backwards was enough to pop/rip something for sure.
Meh I know, I did say take it so I could reposition my arms but the stupid git was not listerning. I did have the same situation with another friend which I was spotting on incline db press and I pretty much dived on him to protect his shoulders when the weight went at a weird angle.
I do think I have a weakness on this shoulder from BJJ, I will give it a while longer and see how it goes
Thanks for the advise so far..

aww dude that suckssss.... #1 get a better spotter , #2 take at least a week off from the gym. my personal opinion is that if it hasn't turned black and blue give it a week, but if it doesn't feel marginally better after that time get it checked with your physician. i don't claim to be a doctor though, so maybe you should at least call one.
the thing i hate about doctors though is that they rush you in for unnecessary procedures sometimes just so they can make money. my dad was about to pass a kidney stone by himself so they rushed him in to get it shattered. the next time he decided to wait longer and it passed nice & smooth with little to no pain. he later found that one of the supplements he was taking had too much calcium and thats what was causing his stones.
as a side note i fell while running last week and twisted my ankle. i dont have health insurance so i decided to give it a week and it has gotten 90% better... i didnt even stop going to the gym because it wasn't that bad... i just couldn't run for a few days.
