Ok so i've been using my home gym for a long time but now i'm gonna get a gym membership very soon and i'm trying to figure out which one would be better, they both have there pros and cons because i live in a SMALL town so you tell me what you think..
YMCA:
Cost: 16.50 a month but you have to pay the 195$ before you join for the year(can't pay monthly)
Pros: Teen weight room(has decent amount of weights) 2 swimming pools, 2 Basketball courts, 2 racquetball courts, ping pong tables, lockers, hangout lounge.
Cons: The big gym you have to be 18+ and can't even go in with an adult so i have to use the teen gym. and the teen gym sucks ass. you have to pay 195$ all at once for the year.
Golds Gym:
Cost: 35$+ per month haven't looked into the payment plans much
Pros: Every single weight i could ever need, Nice basketball court, lockers/single showers, smoothie place, track around the inside
Cons: No pool, cost 35$+ per month.

I like my gold, we dont have a pool or a track tho, I Pay like 27 a month.
I dont like the YMCA, the one wounder here is way too small.Psalm 64:1-6
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of those who do iniquity, Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword. They aimed bitter speech as their arrow, To shoot from.

I went to Golds to lift one summer, it was great too. It had a pool, cardio room with a track for runners wrapped around it, a tennis court, the biggest weight room Ive ever seen, a sauna, basketball courts, etc. Very nice. Currently I go to the YMCA but I'm starting to question that since my school has a weight room that beats the **** out of it which saying something and its free 365 days of the year.

Yeah....I'm not much of a sweater. Especially when I'm doing low reps so its not like I'm fricken' watering the bench. I can understand wiping things down if your sweating like crazy but really?...And yes I think the intensity at Golds gym is far higher than at the YMCA. At Gold's your going to see some pretty big dudes, personal trainers, etc. That know what there talking about which may be useful. At the YMCA the only people you see are kids your age, 40 year olds dads trying to run off there beer guts, old people hogging the Ergometer/treadmill, and maybe a soccer mom or two.

if someone didnt let me use the real gym, id be like ur a flaming homo gtfo, unless they were like hardcore bodybuilders or powerlifts, but if its some ***git ass 30 yr olds who are weaker then me first part goes.. Id definatly go to golds.

funny because I am actually in the midst of deciding whether I should stay at the YMCA or go to Gold's. They opened this Gold's in January and Im usin the 7 day free pass. I like gold's more because it's not as busy probably because it costs so much more and the area it's in. It has like every machine possible and multiple of everything. The things I notice about the Y is that it's more for the younger crowd like teens and everyone talks a lot in the gym. I go to gold's and there is no talking it's all silence with just music playing lol.
Your YMCA is $16.50? mine is $40 a month and that's with the student discount lol and gold's gym is I think $50+ a month.Workout Log
