    Balancing Work & Fitness

The other day I was trapped in a 3 hr meeting from 10am to 1pm. I usually eat every three hours and one of my meals fell in between those times. All the client had provided was mixed nuts, mints, coffee and water. I cherry picked 6 almonds and had a 16oz bottled water and 2 cups of joe. But I feel like I sacrificed my nutrition to the work gods.

How does one combat or prepare for these types of situations? Is it ok to bust out your own snacks in the middle of a meeting? Do you bring a meal replacement shake in the car with you and excuse yourself?

Ideas? Stories? How do you balance work & nutrition?

You could place a (homemade) MRP Shake in a nice stainless steel coffee thermos???

Then no one will know what you were drinking besides you & maybe the person next to you if they can smell.

There is no need to eat every three hours like clockwork. Eating before or after the meeting isn't sacrificing anything.

you didn't "sacrifice" your nutrition for not eating exactly every 3 hours. I get stuck in meetings that go through lunch, extend past work hours, ect...it happens, just make it up when you can. Eating every 3 hours is pointless and inconvenient. Eat when you can, and make sure it all adds up at the end of the day.

Your company has a valuable asset in that instead of having someone contribute to their company they have someone worried about eating every 3 hours.

My boss just called about schedule asortment, I was free all week even with hours.

Working out and eating can be sub later on.

Food requirement is mental problem, just get your calories in later on. Be strong, work these days are hard to come by. IMO IMO

I bring two meals to work every day. one is a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread and the other is lots of grilled chicken I cook on monday's and leave in the fridge at work and it lasts me the week. I also have pb with the chicken. as long as there's a fridge and a microwave, it should be routine

This. I used to go nuts making sure that my meals were evenly spaced out (even stopping workouts early or rushing through them so I could eat sometimes ). Doesn't really matter though, if anything at all.

Take something small like a tuna sandwich in a briefcase or pack and just snack on it halfway through if you really want to eat can't imagine it would be a problem.
