Best ab exercises ? & are regular crunches really necessary ?

I'm trying to keep my ab routine as simple as possible. I usually hate doing stuff like crunches and anything else related to laying on a mat. i like doing stuff like cable crunches and reverse crunches/leg lifts on a inclined bench. would that suffice though ? If not, what other machine and/or low-rep resistance ab exercises can I do to complete my abs nicely?

well you shouldnt focus on your abs that much, the best thing is to squat heavy deadlift heavy, this will work your core like crazy, thats how abs are built.
