i would really prefer just to wait and see. it all depends on the results of the blood test though. if there is cancer **** in the test results then i'm either gonna do the surgery or chemo. but if the blood comes back fine i think i would rather wait and see. i'm bound to catch a break eventually so maybe it not coming back would be coming my way

this sounds like what happened to me. i ended up doing 3 cycles of chemo but my cancer was early stage 2 and spread to my lower back. just do w.e ur dr. says really, if he thinks watch and wait is the way to go, then do that. if u have to do chemo, then do it! do u really want to risk ur life?
yep, having cancer is one of the hardest things a person can go through. most ppl have no idea how hard it really is, and end up making light on the situation.
good luck man, sounds like u might get a break and not have to do chemo.

well i got some real ****ty news today. turns out b/c of my blood levels, they are pretty sure the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in my abdomen/lower groin region. the dr, the specialist and my aunt (who is in the medical field and came along with me to see the specialist) all think i should do an additional surgery to remove the lymph nodes and see if they are indeed cancerous. if they are cancerous i would then need to do a few sessions of chemo after the surgery. if they aren't cancerous i wouldn't need to do chemo.
so it looks like i will have to have surgery in the next few weeks and not be able to do anything for at least a month. great start to my summer and it sucks that i was really starting to see my body build a lot of muscle since i was getting pretty serious about working out/eating.
just my bull**** i got to f'n deal with.....

I'm pretty sure that some forms of HPV can cause testicular cancer 90% of the time. I read it somewhere, not sure off the top of my head but if anyone is interested I'll hunt it down and PM it.
If you have or have had HPV, and a lot of people do, check your **** often.
Good luck man, I am not a religous man but I do think prayer helps.
I'm prayin' everything works out for you.
Oh and noit sayin' you have an STD, just putting it out there for any lurkers that do.

wasn't calling u a douchebag. calling lance a dbag.
not being able to workout is a concern of mine. it's become a habit the past 4-5 months that i actually enjoy everyday. i had to take a 2 week break during the first surgery and it drove me nuts. working my ass off and seeing big time gains, and then being told you can do any physical activity for a month really sucks.
my number 1 concern w/o question is when he brought up the possibility of this surgery causes sexual problems. i stopped him right there. i guess when they 1st started a major effect in some guys was they couldn't get it up any more after the surgery. he said that has been mostly taken care of but i'm making sure i have the best dude do it. i don't know what i would do if i got out of surgery and they told me i could no longer get hard (sounds funny now. i would freak beyond belief if that **** happened).

i'm not updating this 2 month old thread to get sympathy or compassion or anything. i'm doing it b/c last time i posted my whole situation and got good luck/encouragement for you guys everything went perfect. so why mess with success?
i have to have another surgery tomorrow morning. i have to be at the hospital at 6am so it's gonna be around that time (prolly 7ish). they're removing these thing called lymph nodes from my abdomen to see if they have cancer or not.
if they don't - i'm all done. just have to have a blood test everyweek like i've been doing.
if they have traces of cancer - 2-3 sessions of chemo.
so i'm definately more nervous about finding out the results then the actually surgery. i'll know in 1-2 weeks what they came back as.
this surgery is kind of a major thing and only 2-3 guys in NY are "experts" in it. forunately one of the guys works 30 minutes from where i live so i finally caught a break.
it's gonna take 3-5 hours and i'm not gonna be able to lift/workout/play basketball for 5-6 weeks but hopefully i'll be ahead of schedule.
just praying these things come back clean and if i don't ever update this thread again, you know what happened (JK!).

OP hang in there. My brother had a scare a few years ago, very similar situation to yours. It turned out to be some sort of benign cyst. So dont worry yet. Good luck man, and Ill send up a prayer for you too.

i'm getting the pathology results in like 10 days. they are calling me as soon as they get the results so i don't have to wait till the follow up apt.
that will determine if u need to do 2-3 sessions of chemo or not.
also, my 1 nut has now swollen up to like twice the size it was b4 (**** is crazy). i look like sum freak pornstar. we called him and he said some fluid could be in there and caused a buildup. b/c they had to blowup my stomach it can affect other parts. thing is if my nut doesn't go back to normal in 15 days i would need surgery to drain the fluid so i have my fingers crossed.
