Should I lose fat and then build muscle?

Or should I do both at the same time?

6 feet 175 pounds, not fat, but not athletic.

Read my thread bud, ive just posted up my progress.

I hit the gym, doing mostly cardio and running, but also hitting the weights but mostly cardio.

That way you're losing fat and still gaining muscle at the same time.

I'm a proponent of Body recomposition any time your genetics allow for it (some people have trouble adding muscle with out huge calories) if you can do it, i would. it works well for me and others i know.

I'd eat right at or above your maintenance calories while eating clean and doing cardio 4-5 times per week and lifting hard. Work hard to improve your strength and then after 5-6 months of building a good base you can cut down and actually have some muscle under the fat.
