Thanks for the encouragement. I guess energy levels are ok. I was up at 5 a.m. and had a killer leg work out. Got a personal best on squats! It was great. The gym was quiet. But I wish I'd stop forgetting my earbuds. The music on the loudspeakers is on a loop and I'm starting to get very sick of the same songs!! And they never play any of the obscure stuff I like! ;-)
Workout:
Squats (free standing): 2x10x115; 1x10x125; 1x10x130 (PR)
Dead lifts: 4x10x85 - didn't want to go heavier because I could still feel the right abductor pulling.
Split Squats- one foot on bench: 4x10x95
Standing single ham curls: 4x7x65
Leg extension, singles: 4x9x75
Glutes pulley kick backs: 4x10x35
Lying ham curls: 1x7x85; 2x7x80
Seated leg press: 3x10x115
16 minutes on elliptical
Maxed out. Cooked and done. Showered and off to a wonderfully hectic day....

Chest and Abs day - my favorite!
Early morning at the gym again. It's actually starting to get abit busier around 5:45 - 6 a.m. Geez peeps. Stay in bed, will ya!
I was watching a girl totally rip it up on the stairmill. (She was in front of me and all the TVs blacked out.) She was going up sideways with a plate in hand and then taking steps 2 at a time, etc. Good work out. Not like some people who read magazines not at all focusing on the task! I might try some of those moves next time. She came up to me later to ask if I was training for a show. Cool. I was flattered!
I missed a meal yesterday thanks to a long meeting! :-( I didn't think too much of it until about 3 am. I woke up starving. So I didn't sleep much until time to get up at 5. Had 1/4 cup cottage cheese and a small piece of banana (i know that's BAD) with peanut butter. I figured I could get away with it since I was going for a work out. Will have to watch those cheats as competition approaches. Uhmm competition IS approaching!!
Warm-up: 12 mins on elliptical
Pull-ups: 3x6xBW; 2x7x10
Chest dips: 3x7xBW
Seated Row: 3x8x40; 2x7x42.5
DB incline press: 3x8x30; 1x9x27.5
BB decline press: 3x8x75; 1x8x65
Straight arm pull down: 1x8x42.5; 3x7x40
Back extensions: 1x15x0; 2x10x10
Cable X-over (freemotion): 2x7x35; 2x6x30
Alt single lat pull downs (freemotion): 3x7x70; 1x8x60
Bar pull down behind neck: 2x6x30
Finished with 12 mins on the treadmill.
I was supposed to do 5 sets of each but was running out of steam and time. Maybe 5 sets is too much. I prefer to add a couple of extra moves for variety instead.
Email from Derek was really encouraging this week. They always are of course. But it's great when you're not sure and then he says, no you're doing GREAT. ..all caps ! :-)
over and out 4 now... time for a chocolate shake....

Great, the photo upload worked! Thanks Jaime.
Today I did 35 mins of HIITs at lunch time. I used the Arc Trainer. It's like an elliptical but also like a hill climbing machine. It's good for the glutes. I'm really trying to get a handle on that butt. I spent my whole life thinking it was a little too big..now I'm trying to grow it! haha Go figure!
Did some abs and that's it. I was going to run with doggy in the morning but it was raining. So I slept in. It was glorious! I hate getting up in the morning. But a girl's gotta do what girl's gotta do.
Tomorrow, I'll be up early to kill the legs. I have a big weekend ahead and won't be able to work out. I'm attending 2 workshops in Toronto. One for UFE Spring Bash and the other for Fitness STAR. AND it's Canadian Music Week and I'm a member of the media ! I'm not sure when I'm actually going to sleep. It's gonna be abit rough, methinks!
Catch ya 2moro...

Legs PR today!
Was awoken from a deep and peaceful sleep at 5:15 a.m. Completely forgot that I planned to wake up early. I guess that means I had a good rest.
Worked the legs really hard and got some PRs. Yay! Still, I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with the legs. Grrrr I'm gonna fight them all the way! Kapow! ;-)
Squats: 1x10x115; 1x10x135; 1x10x140 (PR); 1x15x140 keeping some "in the basement" ! woo (PR)
Dead lifts: 2x10x80; 3x9x90 (PR)
Standing single-leg ham curls: 4x8x65
Single-leg extensions: 4x8x75
Split squat foot on step: 3x10x95; 1x11x95 (PR)
DB deadlifts: 2x10x30; 2x15x30
Seated calves raises: 3x15x50
HS MTS V-squat: 3x12x170
Abs: decline cruches x 15 and obliques x 15
Tomorrow, driving to T.O. about 5 hours from here. Will try not to stay out TOO late so I can be fresh for the workshop...and then again on Sunday. My two passions do not mesh very well. Music industry vs Figure training! I'm traveling with a girl friend who likes to stay up late and is not training. So we may have conflicting objectives! But she knows I'm training and have to be "good". So she'll have fun teasing me about it!
Must dig deep for the willpower!
;-)...

Back from Workshops
I am back from a busy weekend in Toronto. I attended 2 workshops. On Saturday, it was the UFE workshop in prep for the UFE Spring Bash (April 4). It was ok. I met a few good peeps. But, I have to say, I walked out of there discouraged and wanting to just forget the whole thing. I don't know what was up w/me. They didn't "teach" too much. It was mostly just explanation of the categories and what the organization is all about. We only started practising poses a half-hour before end of workshop.
In my state of disillusionment (sp?), I had a couple of (light) beers that night (over the course of about 8 hours!). :-o It was carb day. I know... I won't mention the Jamaican patty I had for dinner. (Cost me $1.75 - delish!) I went to bed at 2:30 a.m. It was Canadian Music Week. I had some socializing/work to do.
Sunday's workshop was with FitnessSTAR. It's a new organization and it was FUN ! It was very interactive and we learned alot. Led by a bodybuilder (Michelle Mitchell), she gave us tips on peak week and tanning, etc. We got to practice walks and poses for over an hour. This is more of an athletic model competition as opposed to a more rigorous Figure competition. But there is a category for muscular body types. This workshop got my mojo back up and running. I left motivated and looking forward to competing with them. What a difference a day makes.
I will need to practice cat walk and poses quite extensively. I'm not a model and it'll be a challenge to master the fancy shmanzy walking....

HIITs and Abs today
After a few busy days but without actual gym time, I was ready to get going again. To be honest, I was exhausted from the weekend, the driving, the lack of sleep and the disruption of routine. I got home to an empty house. My boys (hubby and son) went down south for March break! Great for them. I'll be without distraction all week eating my own cooking! :-( Hubby is much more creative with chicken breasts and egg whites than I could ever be!
I did 35 minutes HIITs on Arc Trainer at lunch time followed by 20 minutes of abs. After work, I walked the dog for an hour. (I walked to the store to buy my Scivation Xtend! I'm trying Grape this time. Yummy!)
My weight has remained the same but I lost abit of BF%
113.6 lbs \ 13%
I decided to put on my 2-piece posing suit to see if I'm on track. Gulp!

Haven't been to this forum for awhile so I'm catching up on the reading here...you work soooo hard girl, great stuff and you look amazing! 5'5" and 113 lb / 13% BF makes me realize I have a bit of a way to go to get more definition. It helps to have a measure of where I have to be to see that. Keep at 'er you are doing a fantastic job and I'm excited to keep up with your progress up to the competition. Best wishes!

Thanks! Actually the legs are driving me crazy. I'm really trying to get the hams to pop out more and the glutes... they're a real challenge! As soon as I lean out the butt disappears. So that's where I'll be focusing over the coming weeks. I need to be careful not to lean out too quickly.
