"Old school"/heavy duty style ones from elitefts.com. Really simple and quick, no hook and loop bull**** to **** around with.

Same here. They are soft and I usually only do one wrap around anyways, but if I am doing a higher rep set I can wrap them three times.
I actually didn't care for the straps from Spud. They are solid as fuk, but they hurt much more and seem to slip. Plus they are so thick that it feels awkward especially for my small hands.

I use the Spud, Inc. straps - you will need to chalk them up when you first get them to keep them from slipping since they are poly but they will grab really well once they break in and can support heavy loads (have personally had them over 900 lbs on partial deadlifts).
They make longer lengths if you are using an axle bar, but the standard ones should work fine for a barbell:

That's weird. I have little girly hands and don't think they're too thick once I got used to them. I used the 2 inch ones though, and they're the most comfortable things I've ever used. Those had enough grip to hold onto the bar, but were grippy enough to hold onto easily and maneuver around the bar. I've tried the blue Ironmind Strong Enough (and Sew Easy olympic straps), and those are slippery as hell.
