I hope....I am second guessing myself now by thinking I should just stay high calorie and then slam myself into a huge deficit and shock the body, although I am known to do things at a slow and steady pace...
Beckyt.....when you start cutting do you calorie cut week over week sort of thing and increase intensity of workout and cardio or do you just drop a huge amount of calories at one time...No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn't trying - Tony Robbins

I drop 100 calories at a time and usually stay there until I stop seeing any loss. Usually takes about 2 weeks and I'll drop 1.5 lbs for each 100 cal drop (do much for calories in calories out theory....). Workouts stay the same. I still don't do cardio on contest prep unless I have a day off work. Lowest I go is 1700 cal/day with 2 moderate cheat meals per week. I have never cut carbs either.

today's pet peeve.....do not use the wheelchair access button in the winter if it is not neccessary. the poor CSR sitting at the front desk of the gym directly in front of the door freezes her a$$ off on a good day with the doors shut. then some butthead who is empty handed uses the access buttons leaving both doors (or even one door) open letting all the cold air in. let's just say it makes for a very cranky Goodlife CSR. rant done.

then what do you cut, protein and fat every 2 weeks???
I used that button a lot at my gym LOL but it's at the top of the stairs where nobody is lol I really hate when people don't hold the door open for me (or others) and If I see someone coming like 20 feet behind me I push the button as I walk in.Workout Log

I think 1700 cal too low for your height and weight. I bet if you increased your calories by 10-20% you would probably see better results that would be easier to maintain in the long run.
I just cut out the PB from my diet last week and that put me back down to around 1700 cal a day and I am starting to lose already for my cut.Last edited by sglgirl; 12-21-2012 at 09:31 AM.
