Sorry guys, my stuff got delayed again. For my rack/tib...Reflex has been pretty inundated with orders, I guess. I'm assured it's here next week. I got sent a bunch of small stuff (hogline, etc) and they gave me some free accessories because they're cool guys.
Pit Shark isn't shipping until 4/5...big let down. I guess Rogers (new manufacturers of the PS) production schedule isn't matching up quite right. I guess this gives me time to address changing the layout of the gym once that calf/tib machine is settled.
Oh well, think I'm gonna get some grip stuff from Rogue. I guess I'll just post some picture updates. Also, once the rack and calf/tib are here, I will be doing a quick video walk through.

Ah, will have a better idea when I take inventory of all of it and depends on what comes in Thursday. When I update, I will let you know...but it's at least a free extra pair of 24" half rack spotters and utility seat. I'm liking what I see out of Rogue lately, good stuff. I might have to try that, lol. They're even making a big 3x3 rack too!
Well, my stuff finally shipped on Monday. It will be here on Thursday. This is only the rack and calf/tibia. There are certain things that are shipping separately in the following weeks and I'll list all of it when I know what is for sure here and not here yet. Not everything will be here on Thurs, but the main parts will be.
Thanks guys, all reps should be returned.

Well, my stuff is here! Just finished moving all of it upstairs...close to 1500 lbs of stuff. Everything seemed to come in very good condition, no damage that I've seen so far. I haven't had a chance to look at everything, but I will after I eat. The downside is they shipped me the wrong arches...for some odd reason, neither arch has holes in it...which is a bummer. **** happens though so whatever. They're already working to send me new ones so they should be here soon.
I'll give you guys some pictures when I get stuff put together.

Yeah, it's an upstairs gym. The downstairs is an actual garage...haha, go figure
The back of the garage is setup with a punching bag, sparring area...and soon to be Oly lifting area. I had one, but had to move it to an area with more space.
Well, I tested out the calf/tib and it's pretty great. I can't wait to test it out fully, but I love the tibia function. Really smooth design, I foresee it being a favourite. I didn't put the rack together, but it's going up in the morning...so, no pics yet. I have to re-arrange a lot so that's why. It's pretty awesome though...everything is really nice, solid stuff. The wrong style pullup bar came so...that's a bummer too so in reality, 2 of my pullup bars are still being fabbed with some other stuff and the third came out wrong. I'm sure I'll have that replaced immediately as well. It's a bit odd IMO, but Sorinex has been pretty great to me so I'm ok with letting it slide. Really looking forward to the rack though...it's beastly.

i didn't realize the upstairs was the gym. you must have designed the upstairs to support all that weight. can it support overhead drops and the like?

Yeah, it can handle more weight than I will be putting up there. The contractor and I had this discussion and I saw him driving a fork lift on a similar house upstairs. Not sure why it was up there, but those things weigh a lot. The equipment is lined up with load bearing walls as well...most of the weight is there. Yeah, the floor is pretty decently reinforced and can handle drops, but I'm not doing that upstairs just because, well...I'm cautious and I don't see the point when I can do it downstairs. I drop **** up here, but it's just like dbs and sometimes deadlifts. I do Oly lifting up there at times because it's not always needed to just drop it. I'm jumping all the time with box jumps and agility work. I have the downstairs which is concrete for Oly lifting with full drops.

It'll be a couple days, Rich! Sorry man...rack is up, but...wrong arches, no pull up bars...bolts aren't really tightened and nothing is on it yet
I think they shipped the correct stuff Friday, at least I hope so...if not then Monday. Sorinex still has quite a few things to ship besides that anyways...I'll get them up as soon as I can. I'm about to order a bunch of Ivanko plates though, finally got decent price. I could take some pictures, but I wanted to take them when everything was all setup.
It sucks for me worse though...haha.

A video will come...it might happen when I take those pictures. Bodymasters preacher bench and calf/tibia aren't in their final spots, they'll be in another room likely. I'm not really sure where everything is going to be yet, Arc trainer might move to the other room, but doubtful. So, any video you see won't be the final gym. I gotta find the optimum placements while keeping a nice open gym especially in that one area.

God, idk how u have the money and resources and knowledge to build a freaking house and do all the electricity and water and w/e. Tell me OP was your father a construction worker? And are you a top national heart surgeon?
sigh... and your only 25 years old... im only 6 years behind you... i can only dream...

Haha, well, like I said...it's sort of all explained throughout this thread. I learned a lot doing it, really didn't know too much about building prior...but ended up actually doing the majority of it esp. after our first contractor bailed. There's no water, we didn't want it assessed as a house...that might be added later. You'll get where you're going man, just keep at it and never quit. No, he wasn't and no, I'm not, but one day I hope to be a surgeon.
As for the gym, arches didn't ship until today...hopefully I see them W/TH and that's when pics will come. I just ordered a bunch of Ivanko plates - thank you Keetman for the link to IronCompany. Worked out a nice deal with Jayson over there, good guy. I realized I needed a lot more plates and can't wait for these in a few weeks. I'm still waiting on my Buddy Capps TPB. So...anyways, I'll also review my stuff piece by piece and I know I have a ton of small stuff I can do small reviews on too. If I can provide a little insight for potential buyers then I figure that will be a good way to use the thread after everything is all setup.

Hey guys...sorry for the lack of updates. I've really wanted to put them on here for you guys, but I've been cross country and really busy so haven't been able to upload the pictures. However, for the most part....everything is there and installed. I have a ton of new pictures and gear to show you guys and I plan on reviewing nearly all of the stuff - not sure if anyone cares for them, but I hope so. I'm pretty happy with the gym, to be honest...it's turned out pretty great. There is still stuff missing, but doesn't really matter. Tomorrow will be a big update with a lot of pictures and me talking about equipment, but for now...just a little teaser of some of the new gear.

Damn it, looks like Sorinex sent you my weight horn for the calf machine. Mine's painted and too thick for ivanko plates. They've promised me a new weight horn, but 4 phone calls... several emails and 6 months later... still no friggen oly sized weight horn. I gave up, fortunately I do have some older plates that fit.
Looks good and not cluttered at all.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #4 []---[]

Great looking gym you have. The power rack looks great, how do you find the safeties on it?

Sick gym OP, I'm jelly as fuarkk
UK construction student here.
Wood is equally as strong as brick. The reason Americans use wood so much is the ridiculous amount of wood all around and especially above them. In the UK we use to use wood up untill the 1800's but the architects of the day would go on summer holidays to places like Greece, Italy and so forth and bring the design of the ancient structures back. This led to important buildings constructed of masonry and the poor followed suit and started to build from bricks to try and simulate this. Eventually bricks became the norm due to their ease of use and general strength, wood was deemed unusual or incorrectly deemed weak.
Many modern houses (1990+) are a wooden frame with brick infill or a brick skin.New Evolution shat on me

We have all been having problems with Sorinex weight horns... But I also discovered that a few of my Ivanko's 45's have a small ridge on one end of the hole that prevents them from being used with some bars and some of the Sorinex stuff. The tolerances are not tight enough on Sorinex weight horns and I've had that issue of the slightly raised ridge along one end of the main hole with the ivankos as well.

I love the Collegiate. That said, it's overkill. I'd have been fine with the Deluxe. Regardless, I still think it's fantastic. It's very heavy, rock solid and great adjustments. Pad is good and able to be swapped if I wanted. Nope, I've had zero rust there from what I saw there today. Are you having that issue? I'm very pleased with it, Elite makes good stuff.
Damn, quite the opposite experience I've had. I can see why that'd be an issue...my Ivanko plates slide on real tight. I've only tested a few so I can't say for sure yet. It's such a damn good machine though. I'm absolutely loving that thing. Who were you talking with at Sorinex?
Picasa isn't working with me at the moment so pictures will have to wait until morning. Sorry about that...but I don't really want to manually upload 60+ pictures @ 1:30am. Will be there tomorrow for sure even if I need to use a different host.

There are some slight rust issues, but I guess that's normal if you live relatively near the ocean. Plus, the guide rod appears to have what the industry calls "natural finish," so it is prone to rusting if not properly protected. Other than that, I agree the GHR is one solid and heavy piece of equipment. Interestingly, photos and videos of it make it appear smaller than it really is. I believe it is longer than what is stated on the Elitefts website.
I think the footplate on the Deluxe model would not be as secure as the Collegiate given that the top heavy footplate on the Deluxe is anchored only by the adjustment member. Anyway, nice gym.
