he was a central figure of the resistance against the Italians who tried to colonize Libya in the 1920s or some sh!t. go read up on him if you want to know more
His takeover was at first peaceful, then literally no more than 5 years into his leadership, he killed anybody who opposed him. He staged "accident deaths" of key political figures that might have had a chance to kick him out of leadership. Ever since then, he ran Libya as his own personal backyard. Killing over 1200 political prisoners in under 2 hours in the infamous Abu Salim massacre that took place in 1996 among many MANY others. Televised public hangings in Universities of students who opposed him. He left the entire country living almost in poverty while it is rich in oil and has only a population of 5 million. There's so much more that he's done but these are just some really main points to take homeіяс сязш

let's hope it doesn't get like that brah. there's already a national transitional council and I personally was in Libya just last month and saw how things were in the rebel hometown of Benghazi. people getting along quite nicely there srs.
oh and also about the U.S getting involved, i can't really say i like the idea at all. but the Libyan people were stuck between a rock and hard place and NATO was our only help. what can u do...іяс сязш

i seriously hope not. but whatever it is, it will always be better than what Gaddafi ever did. i remember when i was younger visiting Libya i would get chills down my spine everytime i crossed the border into it. i had nightmares because of the horrible stories i've heard about him (which were 90% true). an entire generation growing up there fearing him and paranoid about each other thinking each one is gonna rat on the other. im serious brah, it was a nightmare. no freedom of speech or thought. now things are different but maybe under a different form of dictatorship (i.e economical) still better than the former

OP how do you feel about the non-libyans who are whining about his death? These idiots are saying how awesome Gaddafi was because of all this money he supposedly gave to his citizens. Bullshiit if you ask me.
I'm an American, and I'm glad that assshole is dead. 2011 has been a bad year for the evil asssholes of the world haha
Once he opened fire on the protesters earlier this year, I knew how evil he really was. I don't know all the history, but I do know that killing your own people like that is as evil as a man can get...

yes im very familiar with the rothschilds. im preparing my angus just like anybody else
nah brah, Libyans have never been extremists despite what the media tells you. also, the people in charge are no where near extreme. srs
Almost everybody in Libya is happy with them. Keep in mind that they're not actually 'in charge' but a temporary government until elections take place next year i believe. so there won't be any long time running presidency and ****. just the regular 4-year periods.іяс сязш

Some of you guys are funny.
It's like if Russia was in Stalin-era and this happened some of you would be like "Yes, so he killed millions, but NATO is gonna suck!!!".
Err, okay, they take some oil or whatever. So? This guy killed thousands of people and oppressed Libya. Understand that before saying NATO or America or Britain or whoever is gonna be worse.202.5/135/245. Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165241801.

brah, he hasn't given sh!t to the libyan people. srs
the average salary in libya was around $180USD/month. doctors made around $500/month and often worked two shifts and different hospitals. meanwhile... his sons were spending anywhere from 50-200 million GBP/year on bull**** parties outside of the country. i can't even describe how savage he has treated his people.
haha that b!tch got what was coming to him. he deserved way more than a quick death IMOіяс сязш
