Another horror/comedy that was so bad it was good was Pervert. I would give it a 8/10.

Zombieland- 9/10 even though a horror comedy, this movie was just all around entertaining, definitely worth a watch if you enjoyed Shaun of the Dead

I hope it's not because its more politically correct way for him to seek revenge. When was the last time you heard someone tell a character don't be a f@g. I only bring this up because I forgot what movie I was watching a while back and an actor called one of the guys a f.uckin *** for being scared to go out in the woods and my 14 y/o cousin was like wow you could say f@g in movies back then? lulz. Is that Rorsach (sp?) as Freddy?
Don't want to sound like a dick but can you guys give a little synopsis of the movie? I know that google is our friend and all that good sh.it but aren't we on this thread to discuss movies?
Saw Trick or Treat, too bad this movie didn't get a national movie theater release. I can see why though. It was greatly written, with great actors and directed seamlessly. It intertwines 4 different tales of what happens one night during Halloween in some small town in the midwest.
"An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a removed cause of spoiler; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband (imdb)" Can't say much more w/o saying spoilers.
As to why it didn't get a real theater run, well its far too smart for your average horror fan. It has no monster, no haunted house, no gore etc so it's just hard to market. This movie will still achieve cult status and will still be enjoyed by many and achieve great sales through word of mouth.
I saw Rob Zombies H2. WTF was that sh.it all about? Whats this hole horsewoman non sense? Maybe I'll watch an R5 copy soon and it'll prolly make more sense than that cam version. I've seen so many fail "horror" movies lately

Hey everyone, I've been gone for a while and am trying to catch up. I'm on page 117 right now so I apologize if this was already talked about.
I saw a movie called Paranormal Activity yesterday at an 11PM showing. I have to drive about 45 min to find a theater that was showing it. The movie is pretty rare and people had to request that it came to their state. Let me tell you that a movie has NEVER affected my pulse rate...this one did. I have always loved horror movies and my goal since I was 10 was to find one that actually scarred me. Again, this movie didn't scare me but it got really close. I highly recommend the movie if it is in your area, I loved it!
The plot was basically as the title states. A young couple get a home recorder because they believe something odd is going on in their house. As the movie progresses the activity gets worse, that's all I'm going to say.
I would give it 9.5/10!

I'm not sure to be honest with you. It is recently making its rounds around the country and is becoming quite popular. I was going to go to a midnight showing on Sat but it was sold out. The 11PM Sunday showing also sold out but I bought my tickets online early in the day.

I chose the wrong wording. The main point I was trying to get across was about why I thought this movie wasn't given a theater run. Is the pumpkin headed kid a monster? yes. Does he play a role similar to a Jason or Freddy Krueger? No. There are monsters in this movie, there are people dying etc. What I was trying to get at was that this movie would be hard to market. There is no central monster to market, there's no gimmicky twist ending, there's no crazy "creative" deaths, no excessive gore. Just a creative movie that brings together four tales of things that go bump in the night.

I agree. I liked the overall production but simply found some of the "action" to be too implausible. No way those kills could happen without someone seeing or hearing something. That's always my biggest beef with horror movies; they take you out of the moment by forcing you to wonder "where are the neighbors?" "why doesn't anyone see this happening?" and "why don't the cops come even after a 911 call gets disconnected?"
If they had kept the creepy realism it would've been complete win. Even with supernatural elements, if they had worked the angle from a "what if this happened" angle it would make it ten times scarier and more effective. But when they completely ignore reality and circumvent natural human responses for plot development, it just doesn't work for me.
Good for popcorn and a nice easy ride, but certainly not the movie I was hoping for.

Nacho Cerda's ''Aftermath'' and ''Genesis'' , Im telling you , you haven't seen anything like that before ...
Genesis was probably the most original thing I've seen in ages .
Aftermath was very sick one , watch the trailer at your own risk .

Dang, I was hoping with his previous films, it'd be horror. oh well, thanks for the heads up.
Just watched 'Trick r Treat.' I loved it. Good story telling. Awesome atmoshere. A couple good twists too. Perfect Autumn movie.
good point. I saw 'Sam' as a Halloween/Samhain version Loki.
I'm actually surprised it got an R rating. Maybe I'm just desensitized. It was not as bloody as 1 would expect for what was happening. Not real violence as its just implied or not shown on camera. The Watchmen
