My cousins (by marriage) from Boston are really well connected in liberal politics and the daughter came to the UoA for a few years back. She really insulted us a few times with talk of how redneck we were, etc, etc.. which is kind of funny if you understand how segregated east coast cities are, most large cities in fact. We have a south side but I never grew up with any racism around, I have friends of all colors and I honestly didnt even think about racism until college, because basically no one cared. I was one of the few white kids on many teams I played for.. You cant really be that racist and grow up playing team sports..

i have no idea what you are talking about, detroit is very integrated... oh wait, no we are the most segregated area in the country

pretty sad actually, it is so polarizing here and people just dont want to let go

my wife's family back there drops N bombs all the time.. The brothers out here are like white dudes unless they came from the east. My friend J grew up in NY and is real ethnic in terms of how he talks.. took me about a year to understand what the hell he was saying...

no, i decided today was an off day to catch up on things. then i realized i have very little to catch up on. cleaning and school work, so i am sitting doing nothing.

LOL...no they are going to Alaska for a month vacation with their g-parents. They were supposed to fly out yesterday (twice) but Continental screwed up everything. They'll fly back to SC next month.

It hasn't been this quite since school was in session. I'm lonely though. I have my daughter of course, but when you're used to a loud, boisterous family, the quite is unsettling. I can't wait to get moved to SC. I'm having bad anxiety at night sleeping alone. I get afraid. Silly I know, 29 yrs old and afraid to sleep alone. I have an arsenal ready just in case.
