Thats why i try to live my life with my eyes set on the afterlife
The worldly life is nothing but a passing delusion. You will never be satisfied with it, but you can be more content with focusing on the afterlife. That doesnt mean we have to give up everything and live like a pauper… it means we live with the worldy life in our hands, not in our hearts. Its just a tool you use to worship your creator.

That's not a good representation of how index funds work. Your friend did something stupid and blamed the stock market. We are talking about putting X amount into an index fund over and over every week/month/year until compounding interest takes over. Look into Dave Ramsey, good entry point for investing/personal finance. That's the way out, long term investing where you put money into the top 500 companies in the US and compounding interest makes gains in the background until you are ready to harvest. Not get rich quick, but get rich slow and consistent. If you dont do this you will be poor and hungry in your 70's and still working, 100% ded srs.

you're acting like investing in stocks is like going to the casino and putting everything on black
1. it's not that high risk. statistics show if you invest in the s&p 500 on average over a long period of time you'll make rougly 10% per year
2. it's just that; over a long period of time, you're not going to become a billionaire in 5 years investing in stocks

Feels brah. I'm going all out on crypto this year. If I don't make it hopefully I can muster up the ballz to off myself. Other than that I just live for lifting and smoking weed and cigs. Obviously the shtty part is that both of those conflict with each other so I can't make gains while slowly destroying my health.

True. Early teens and early 20's felt great up to till 27,28
Once I hit 30 is where things started to feel mundane. Everyday feels the same and days pass by so fast.
Being young feels great since you don't spend more than a minute being bored. Gradually the minute becomes minutes, hours, days until you hit 30 and it becomes weeks and even monhts.

Know how you feel op
But the situation is even worse IMO. Every few months you have an X% chance of being laid off at your job and facing long term unemployment. Your investments looks nice until you have to drain them all for living expenses until your family is thrown out on the streets
