Where did I state that it's probably full because of the flu? I DIDN'T. Once again you're implying things I didn't say. I was simply trying to state that this year was a pretty bad flu year and we still have people being admitted daily for it. A downward trend does not = 0. A downward trend does not mean that certain demographics aren't still getting hit hard by the flu. I was merely giving another reason for why people are already seeing these reports of hospitals being at capacity. If you don't understand that, it's really not my problem.

For those of you saying that hospitals are already being overcrowded by this, everyone needs to keep in mind we are still in flu season, and this year was bad because of a poorly matched vaccine. Hospitalization was higher than normal

But it doesn't really matter, close to capacity is close to capacity, so getting a surge of this new **** is bad, regardless of why we were close to capacity already

You guys are so feisty for a Friday night in quarantine.

If the current trends with other countries are predictive, in about 2 weeks we will see if locking down worked for Italy (their new cases despite alarming numbers is actually curving to containment). If it does then sucks but pretty sure we stay locked down for another 4-6 weeks to achieve same results. If it doesn’t, only morons would continue the lock down at this kind of economic costs.

So either way, all these recommendations to lock down for 6-18 months are not sustainable and we all know it.

Not to mention, people aren’t going to stay locked down for that long, even if they know it risks them being infected. In today’s world, 2 weeks stuck at your home is rough. After a full month, people are going to say fuk it and go about their lives.

home depot - just gloves and glasses, no mask, since people are so spread out
kohls - just gloves and glasses, hardly anyone there
ups - neither gloves nor glasses, just handed off my package and got a receipt, maybe 2 people there
grocery store - gloves, glasses, mask, super paranoid about people being near me


why the hair net though? hoodie does make sense but I'd look like I'm robbing the place.

I haven't seen anyone cough and my only curiosity is whether speaking to someone 2-3 feet away could be dangerous. I may just start wearing a mask for that reason alone.

So I'm pretty positive I had Covid in January. There are people being interviewed in my age bracket that are now cleared and are listing what they went through and it is literally what happened to me.

I wonder how long ago this really landed in North America.

I had extreme fevers and migraines and it came in waves. First few days I felt like I had a cold coming on, wasn't too bad and then all of a sudden I was dead. Bed ridden for like 24 hours, didn't leave my room. Physically hurt to take a piss, bed sheets were soaked in sweat. Had very high fever and at the same time couldn't stop shivering. Legitimately thought I was dying and then woke up and felt great. The handful of days after were the same thing but gradually less and less impactful. Never made it into my lungs but both my parents had it in their lungs and had coughs for several weeks. I talked to family members who were doctors and they said well that sounds like flu but I have never felt a flu like that. It was the most sick I had ever been in my life and felt otherwordly. Anyone else go through that during flu season?

Just saw images of spring breakers in Florida while the entire world is pretty much locked down. How is that even allowed right now?

When you see images from Bergamo or Brescia, it's hard to believe there are still people taking this lightly. Coffins being transported by the army because they're piling up outside of hospitals & crematoria can't burn the bodies fast enough.
