Glad to see Dustin win after hearing the announcers suck Gaethje's balls all fight. Could they have been more biased?

Just finished watching. Cowboy vs. Condit was a match up I figured Condit would be able to successfully avoid take downs in. I'm pretty disappointed it turned out as it did, I wonder who would have won if it had remained standing.
Poirier had some juicy combinations. I'm a bit surprised he didn't take more inspiration from Eddie though, particularly in a five round affair. I'm glad Poirier won, I totally despise Gaethje's approach to fighting.

Gaethje said he would fight 5 more times in his career
looking like it might be 2 more times based on the amount of dmg he takes in every fight. Maybe he is saying cuz he lost 2 all out wars. But he has to figure out a way not to take so much damage while at the same time still being himself out there.

I don't know if you watched him fight in WSOF, but I did, and he's been fighting like that for years. He had a couple of fights with Luis Palomino over there that were just like these fights, if not more brutal. Granted he's fighting tougher competition now, but damn, he's hanging right in there with them.
Maybe he can't beat those top five, but it would be nice to see him fight five or ten more times. Maybe the UFC matchmakers can give him some fun/favorable matchups so we can see what his highlight reel looks like, since it doesn't look like he's going to be a title contender anyway.

I don't think that was a factor, but I know you're not alone in observing that. The media asked Dustin a very similar question in the post fight presser.
I will say this: I re-watched the fight on MMA Core this morning (without the FOX commercial breaks), and I got to see what was going on between rounds three and four, and Dustin seemed as fresh and composed as any fighter I've ever seen- eerily so.
He was telling the cut man to put the n-swell above his eye instead of underneath. He told his cornerman to ice his knee.
I think he took a shot or two in that third round, but I think he was ready to fuking rock for that fourth round, and I don't think that extra minute or so (however long that was) made that kind of a difference.
As always, I could be wrong.

Poirier landed a lot more shots but that's kind of Gaethje's style, he wants to win or lose via KO and not have it go to decisions so for him it is almost inconsequential how many shots are landing on him. But to say Poirier wasn't hurting or was hurt at any point in the match is just being disingenuous. And Dustin's leg was swelling up pretty bad.
