313 lifted is an accomplishment in itself! Happy to see the proteins are paying off
I was going to google tuna flavored icecream, but somethings are better off unsearched.
Happy Friday!!!

LOL! the last thing this world needs is tuna flavored ice cream. hahahaha!
ok so maybe kitties would like it. i was maligning having to eat All The Protein over ******** the other day, and wondered aloud why tuna doesn't taste like ice cream. that way i could get all that good-for-my-body protein into my diet.
thanks, ham. it;s not a real deadlift PR but it was fun moving that weight around today.

The tricep extensions bothered my left elbow a little so I am keeping watch of that, but everything else was fine. I enjoyed the benching. 135 was not an issue.

thanks serine!
your user status is my motto. I DO WHAT I WANT. such a great answer when people question your behaviors. lol
Today
sled drags with yoke carry
+180 lbs 60 yard sled drag
6-10 yard speed walk yoke carries
+180 lbs 60 yard sled drag
6-10 yard speed walk yoke carries
+135 lbs 60 yard sled drag.
doesn't seem like much but it was pretty killer. i rested for a bit and then tried to yoke carry again and absolutely could not. it took me a few tries just to carry it back to the gym. whoa! that wears me out quickly.Last edited by geek23ka; 11-01-2016 at 01:14 PM.

Great benching of death and destruction, and bustin' out dem rows right after, YEAHHHH!!!
Have had hornswaggled elbows before from grip getting too strong srs, had to undo it with the rubber bands for your hands where you spread your fingers outward to counter that. To this day still use elbow straps on my pull ups to not beat the hell out of them with my hammie ham.Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

i would wear "i do what i want" as a shirt for sure.
thanks, hammy!
you've had the blow thing too huh? it bugged me again today during squats. grr. for the rubber band thing, i just put it on my fingers and spread my fingers outward? i'll do anything to stop it. what a pita.
today
squats
body weightx a few
45x5
65x5
85x3
115x3
switched to kg
60x1
80x1
90x1
quit because i just couldn't get any power. also my elbow was bugging me. that's 198 lbs. well below my opener of 225, and it felt like a max attempt.
i have no power because my CNS is shot r/t yoke carry yesterday. it;s a good kind of shot. i'm glad for it. it will make me stronger after i rest up.

Sounds like it was a rough go at squats today, don't worry, it builds character, srs, you're gonna make it.
Yep! Here's the set of bands I have right now:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I like these a bit better but they've been out of stock a while:
https://smile.amazon.com/Finger-Fore...+forearm+bands
I've been using these bands for years and when I got to the point where I could use the heaviest resistance one that band would last like 6mth before I'd break it by using it daily. I keep re-ordering a set when I break em. Has helped me immensely so I will continue getting new ones a couple times a yr if need be.Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

Today felt good! I think I am over the exhaustion hump. I have been eating well and hitting my protein macros and sleeping lots. Recovery from yoke walks has been successful. I am stronger than I was.
Incline Bench was much easier this time. I think I might go to 90 lbs for the next 5x5 I do.
Heavy and Ugly DB Rows were great! It;s the first time I have rowed 70 lbs and it felt ok.
Push Press I did for fun and to get back in the groove. They worked ok but I have technique issues that I need to work out, of course.
Much of this workout including going for 70 lbs DB row and push presses were inspired by hammy. thanks, hammy!

What are your protein targets?
Are you still on a keto type diet?
Hope you are able to feel totally refreshed. Sometimes it takes longer than we want.
What have you learned about the CNS? If you feel like going there lol. If not I will look up on my own.
Wishing you the best Geek!!!"Choice is ours whether

thank you thank you. dem rows, dem dumbbell rows!
my protein goals are 150 protein and i need to reel in my caloric intake. i was hoping i wouldn't have to but i definitely do. i have gained 3 pounds this month that i've been back at the gym. no bueno.
i'm not on keto anymore, no, but i still think that's the diet i should be eating. i just don't want to bite the bullet before my meet on dec 3rd.
there is so much conflicting information on CNS fatigue. this guy calls it "mental DOMS"
https://www.myosynthesis.com/cns-handle-stress
since i'm just starting up, it;s easier for me to become exhausted. when i went into the gym the other day, just 24 hours after my yoke walks, my t-max was 198, when just the prior week i squatted 265.
i expect that i will be able to handle more and more volume as time goes on. i didn't have DOMS, i just couldn't engage my muscles. i felt like i could crumble under the weight.

Squats
barx5
40x5
50x5

75x1
80x1
80x2
80x2
80x1
70x2
70x3
70x1
70x1
My back was nagging me. I felt like I could have handled a much heavier load if it weren't for my back, so i am no longer exhausted.
I wanted 15 total at 80kg, but i dropped to 70 to save my back some. i stopped all together when my back told me to.
i have a meet in 3 weeks. worried that i won't be able to lift much. i hope to open at 100kg and go from there.
i got to watch my coach lift some. first day of his oly training and he does a 150kg front squat with perfect form like it's NBD. <3 i may or may not have a tiny crush on my coach.

Hi geek!!! I'm baaaaack
This is all beautiful, I love it.
Way to kick butt in here! lol @ heavy and ugly DB rows, that sounds up my alley...
And CNS fatigue, yeah, that'll get ya. Had my first big CNS burn-out earlier this year, I try to show it a little more respect these days. "Try" being the operative word.

100kg is 220. i'll open with that and see where it leads. coach said we can pass on the third squat, and save my back for deadlift if things are too heavy that day.
i should bake him protein cookies! i can bring them to the gym and share with everyone. good idea.
i'm so glad you're back! your life is so full these days, i'm happy you came here and said howdy to me. i know how precious your time is.
i love heavy and ugly and decided to just go for 70 lbs and it worked. i wonder how 80 lbs would go. probably not nearly as well as 70.

i don't know hat a good front squat is or what percentage of the back squat it;s supposed to be. i'm glad to hear strong hammy say it;s good! <3
i didn't use straps or anything for the 70 lb DB rows.
oh i don't think ill enter because my push press is so weak sauce, you know? if it were at least over 100 i would.
thank you!! i'm trying.
lol going in to do some singles for fun was exactly what i needed. i have to admit when i felt how heavy 165 was on my neck, i got nervous, but it all went up ok, so i'm happy.
