"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Seriously? I love the fact that I can most likely beat the crap out of anyone, being 2-3 times stronger than most people give me a huge edge. I also love to look good, have a six pack, have perfect symmetry. I also love the challenge, bodybuilding is extremely challenging, especially for natties like me

Vanity reasons initially. And now, I am just obsessed with getting the maximum out of my body in terms of strength, conditioning and overall lifting performance. It's just something I am obsessed with that is more or less all consuming, and I've been doing it almost a decade now. It's neither a good thing nor a bad thing.

20% of it is because I love seeing people hit PR's and make progress, it makes me want to work harder to be better than them, I love the feeling of pushing my bodies physical limits.
the other 80% has become habit because I'm passionate about it*no crew crew*

It's hard to say exactly why.
I guess intrinsically it makes me feel more in control of situations?
It makes me feel like no matter what comes my way, my body is ready to physically handle whatever it needs to.
Same reason I'm into fighting, just so that I know most likely if some sort of confrontational situation comes up I'll be ready. The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.
That's why grandma's apple pie rocks and yours sucks.

Personally it gives me a subconscious and conscious sense of security. Feeling strong and looking strong imo is a statement of ones character, not saying it defines me but it sure says a lot about someone.

- To look good. Every second person is fat, so being fit puts you into the top 10% of men when it comes to body.
- High cholesterol is genetic in my family, and has lead to my dad having 4 heart attacks (2 major, 2 minor). Aunt is due for a heart bypass in a few weeks, and my grandfather died of a stroke. So there's avoiding that.

Started taking it seriously once all the drinking, smoking, chitty diet, etc. started taking its toll on me. I've had a fear of getting fat since I was like 8 years old. Now, I'm just addicted to the gym srs. And tbh I love the attention when I've made real progress.

When I used to lift it was to look better and improve my appearance, so that I could feel better
Feeling better entailed being more confident, which I was hoping got me more respect from guys and more attention from women
I got both when I gained my muscles, I stopped lifting over a year ago now because life got in the way and as I've shrunk back down a bit I've noticed my confidence has definitely slipped although I still seem to get the respect/attention - I just don't really take advantage of it now because of the low confidence. The other thing I've noticed is that after shrinking back down a bit some of the confidence from once being fairly big has stayed - so while I'm not currently confident in my body I'm more confident in myself because I know that sometime in the past people did respect me and I did get girls. I want to get back into it again but life is still getting in the way.If I laugh, I rep

Right now I'm just lifting to maintain muscle as I lose fat. All my lifts are stagnant... my squat and DL are a joke.. the only semi-decent lift I have is my bench, but 225 x 9 isn't impressive for my weight...
But I'm down 29 lbs since April, so if I can keep losing weight while maintaining lifts the % will improve

My puppy love cheated and finished with me when I was 16, made me think I wasn't good enough. So I became obsessed with training took me 3-4 years to get over that sloot. I'm now 27 and I don't mind looking big or small as long as I get stronger and don't feel weak af I'm happy.
So the reason why I lift now is just to be healthy and strong.Clothes only fit for a month crew******
