No I saw two dudes coming up down the road. They looked like trouble. They did a double take, then ran up on me fast. I knew something bad was coming. They them put bandanas on their face as they were running up. If I had a gun, I could have drawn on them or at least been ready to draw. If my draw was fast enough this wouldn't have happened. They didn't pull their weapon till the last second.

What if these guys run towards you with bandanas on and are unarmed or have no physically violent intentions but want to get in your face and argue with you about something? Do you think anyone would take your word for it?

One thing i don't get when people say, "i need to start carrying a gun to help me if i get robbed by an armed mugger"...The guns not going to be in your hand and if an armed mugger pull a gun on you approches you out of nowhere (like they tend to do) you are not going to be able to de-holster and load your gun before they shoot you.

Even if they have no intention of shooting you, your sudden movements might make them panic and shoot you.

Like go to any reputable gun range that rents out various weapons for range time, find someone to work with you, get comfortable with them, and don't even consider buying or carrying until you know what the phuk you're doing with it.

We have a place like that here called the gun gallery. It let's you try out as many guns as you want for a set price. But I don't see how that's gonna help if I don't even know how to fire the thing.

Check your state laws about CCW. I do agree with others in the thread that not having a gun probably saved your life. No liberal. Get a G26 or similar, which is reliable, concealable, and easy to practice with. Home defense, shotgun only.

Training, training, and more training. Invest all your time and money into training with whatever firearm you decide to purchase. Make an informed decision when purchasing a firearm. Don't buy any gun some fuk in misc tells you that you must buy. Research and make an informed decision and then train with it over and over. Yeah I know. And from my understanding, if you pull a gun on someone like that and they were unarmed, that's brandishing a firearm and that's a felony. So how to solve this problem.

1. "BACK OFF", loud vocal warnings. Move away/backwards, avoid the situation. Give clear warnings.

2. Only pull out your firearm when you ready to fire. (When you are in fear for your life)

People generally don't continue approaching you after you yell/scream at them to stop.

I was robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday in broad daylight. They even put me on the floor and put a gun up to my head execution style. For some reason they didn't pull the trigger. I have also almost been robbed 3 other times on seperate occasions
but was able to escape the other times. Luckily I am unscathed.

I have realized that I need a gun for protection. I've never shot a gun in my life though. Price isnt an issue for the most part. I need something for personal protection that I can reload load fast, isn't hard to use, won't jam, can be drawn fast, and has a decent amount of bullets in the chamber

So 4 times total now? WTF do you live? Go take a class and get formal training with firearms. Go to a place that rents guns and try some out. Spend time on gun forums where people know their chit, like M4Carbine. Practice regularly. If you're not willing to do that, rethink your idea

Don't just buy something you were told about on the misc and start carrying it. Having a gun does not magically make bad guys go away.

Good luck, OP. Make sure to keep a level head and make conscious and non-rash decisions that could potentially ruin your life. I've been mugged before and the feeling is terrible. It's this feeling of ultimate violation that injures your ego and pride. You're probably ruminating about the situation over and over, thinking about what you could have done differently to protect yourself. In the end, you have to remember that there really isn't anything more you could have done. Two pieces of schit had you both 1) outnumbered, 2) had weapons. You made the smart and conscientious choice not to fight back. I know it's difficult to swallow, and you want to punish or teach these as$holes a lesson, but your life is far more valuable.

i love guns, and I always carry one on me.. but if you get thrown to the floor and a gun put to your head, what would of having a gun on you prevented? Sorry to hear what happened, but you need to pay more attention to your surroundings.
