There is no Hound, he is dead, you miscers need to let go.

No suggestion yet about the hound being alive, the Arya saying that **** about the hound wasn't a hint at him being alive, it was a hint at her compassion and ability to forgive, basically maturing some.

The hound DIED on the other end of westros, good luck with some faith militant pleb finding him, healing him and him turning to god rather than revenge, you really think the hound's foundation would change because he almost died?

Must be some book spoiler I'm not aware of.


Lets say the hound does come back, he will either die from the mountain, letting Cersei live.

Or

The hound get revenge on his brother (GRR Martin wont let us have nice things) and Cersei is sentenced to death.

But Cersei can't die until after her son dies, which is the prophecy.

So everyone pushing for the hound to come back, you're telling me Tommen will die this season, the mountain will die this season and Cersei will either die this season or the season will end with her facing death.

Seems like a stretch to me boyos.

maybe i'm being a bit overly optimistic but i actually imagine sam being a major player down the line. here's why (and probably going to be a bit of a read to get this out in full):

the whole series is based pretty much on 'legends', in the sense that we hear all these stories about people when they were younger ie. how Ned Stark was the best swordsman and then we see the flashback to the truth which is that he was greatly outmatched but the stories over time have changed our perception. with that in mind, we're seeing the story of Sam as he develops. i imagine we're going to see a few more of these little events until there's some massive turning point where we realize sam has changed from a spineless bitch to a war hero of sorts, likely being Jon Snow's right hand man in the battle against the white walkers

do i imagine him going full Mountain and destroying everyone in battle? nah. but i can imagine him being a big piece of the puzzle and hardening up over time like we've seen with a few characters throughout the series

The fact that he's made fun of for being a book worm will probably have him thinking of a plan to help kill the white walkers in the end which will be part of his legendary story. I do agree there's more to this than we can see right now.

i think his dad would have done something to gilly and his son if sam stood up to him. he obviously hates wildlings and wildlings are basically not allowed south of the wall. he probably would have executed her that night and it wouldn't even ruin his reputation. or could have done much worse. i mean his dad is the lord, and sam is basically nothing without any titles, lands, he doesn't even count as a tarly at this point i think.

that and he's basically a night's watch deserter. sam's dad could have executed sam and it would be law. like how ned executed the other guy.

but the crying part was inexcusable. dude has been through the battle at craster's keep, the battle at castle black, fought a white walker, was surrounded by the white walker army... and the fuking guy cries in front of his dad spouting some insults. as if he wasn't insulted everyday in the night's watch.

if it were my writing the script i would just have sam staring his dad fearlessly in the eyes the entire time. that would be pretty good character development.

still a good scene though. amazing casting for his father. nailed it. reminded me of tywin a little bit.

You have to realize Sam has probably been treated like that( or even worse) his entire life. More or less like tywin and tyrion. He simply doesn't know how to stand up to his dad. I give props to Gilly. I didn't think she was even remotely serious about him but she had the biggest balls at that table.

Every time he comes back I get worried, because he doesn't get seem enough screen time as a whole to be relevant enough to be on the "non-expendable" list. So when they need to kill of a semi-important/known character, I always worry it'll be him. Kind of expected it to happen when he went with Jamie to rescue the daughter too.
