Thinking I've either strained my glute med/TFL, which is sort of strange but its the right area. Been bothering me for a couple of months now. Possibility that its my psoas tendon but idk. Anyone deal with pain like this before? most painful movement is hip flexion/abduction
I've only run smolov jr once but I thought it was awesome.

Yeah, I actually researched that whole ibuprofen thing a while back for my own reasons. I read peer-reviewed articles instead of Men's Health or some insane T-Nation nonsense.
Turns out, ibuprofen is just plain good for you.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

What are some of the most useful things you guys have found for improving your deadlifts?
My squat and bench go up pretty consistently but deadlift doesn't seem to want to move as much. I know some people say "squat builds the deadlift" but I've definitely not found that to be the case for me (at least at this stage).YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

just take your lever belt out of your carry on and put it through on the conveyor like its a laptop. if you leave it in the bag they might not understand what it is.

Squat gains =/= gains on deadlift for me either. Maybe because I'm a wide stance, low bar squatter and a conventional deadlifter?
Heavy rows, shrugs, lots of ham work, and explosive leg pressing...preferably a leg press machine that allows you to deload/relax the load on the bottom part of the lift and explode to a locked out position--so similar to a deadlift in that there is no stretch reflex.Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=151789213&page=19

So Pacifico is going to go singleply again and try to break Belyaev's 2425 total record.
I hope he doesn't actually think he's on the same level as Belyaev. Even if he gets the "record".My training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=129669663

Came across this video of Brian Shaw deadlifting. I thought how he locks in his lats/shoulders before the pull was pretty interesting.
Starts @57 sec

I think in the lower strength levels especially (400-600), there's a rather high incidence of low volume / high intensity dead training resulting in ridiculous jumps. On this board alone there's been like 10 guys who went from 400 to the mid 5s by doing little more than working up to a DL max every couple/few weeks. My back's been tanked for the better part of an aeon (although I'm finally back up to PR pull numbers), but I progressed from a hard 400 to 470 conventional pull while my max squat was around 300-315... only training I really ever did for it was working up to a heavy top single every ~2 weeks and maybe a back off set or two. Since beginning deadlift training again, I've been doing about the same and it has been moving up smoothly again. In general, deadlift reps have always broken my recovery for weeks at a time.
Just something to consider I guess.
Also more upper back work. Always more upper back work.Best gym lifts: S 430 / B 385 / D 480 both C&S
