04-22-2015, 06:59 PM #7021I don't believe in deloading. Instead you should find someone at the gym, ask them to be your friend, once you are friends ask them to blind fold you, make sure not to look cheeky because otherwise they might get the wrong end of the stick. Then ask them to load the bar with a number between 2.5kg - 250kg, then blast out 4x10 reps. You gotta get past that mental block, deloads are a waste of time and you don't get any kudos from your new friend at the gym. Seeking: Hip Press

Even before the discount it is still much cheaper than Rae Crowther's which is the same machine in all aspects. I wonder why Rae Crowther are that expensive, keeping in mind they went out of business when they were Nebula. Meaning they weren't that successful. Their prices can be more expensive than Power-Lift and Rogers. Just a thought please don't shoot me

I stumbled across this company the other day. All of their machines are exact replicas of Nebula/Rae Crowther. I sent them an e-mail asking what was going on and what the difference was now between the two. They responded they are the only licensed dealer to sell Nebula's pieces. Not sure how true this is, or if it means that Rae Crowther is no longer.

Yeah I have been in contact with their rep Andrew Hall, I think he used to work for Legend. According to him, the relationship between them and Rae Crowther is like EliteFTS and William Strength. I emailed Rae Crowther asking if I can make my purchase through him and Hans replied I can.
I had a long conversation (almost 2 hours) with Andrew and the guy was fun to talk to, he answered all my questions as unbiased as possible and was (and still is) welling to help with whatever he can even if you won't buy through him. Although I still did not get anything from him yet, I highly recommend him for being easy to deal with and for being smart unlike some companies I've dealt with.Last edited by themaddemon; 04-24-2015 at 01:29 PM.

Andrew is a great guy. When he worked for Legend he gave me a tour of their showroom and his opinion of their different machines. It is great when a rep says this is a great machine and this is why, then proceeds to explain why. But it is even more refreshing when one says, I don't like this machine (one he is selling) and this is why. I would trust Andrew to give an honest answer!

Guys bad news...we didn't get the lot. He asked me to call back Wednesday to double check.
Also said he was still searching for another lot. He will let me know when he finds one.
He also didn't understand why we wanted these so bad, said he had never heard of rogers. I kindly let him know that he gets any rogers pieces i can prolly get them sold within 48 hours. Hopefully he will find more pieces.I don't believe in deloading. What's interesting is that his outfit looks like a major reseller of equipment. To be in the fitness equipment resale business and not recognize a brand, particularly one that's highly regarded, sort of indicates its scarcity. No doubt he will up the price next time, but that's how supply and demand work!

I have realized that many equipment sellers are pretty clueless when it comes to equipment other than "Hammer Strength".

I just hope they don't find what we just said on google because then they would insanely increase the price! I just came across a guy wants to sell Rogers Leg Curl for $2500 and another wants to sell Power Squat for 2800. Those are the prices for brand new ones directly from Rogers!

I'm sure the influx of calls and e-mails on this past lot has given him all he needs to know. But yes I do agree, hopefully he doesn't figure out the rarity of these pieces on the used market.

Most resellers are just in it for the money. I am a rare bread. I'm passionate about quality gym equipment. When I deal with other resellers they know nothing outside of cybex and life fitness (hammer), even fewer actually workout. Only a handful know good equipment and its hard to sell because customers are so bombarded with above companies and IRHSA that they equate and compare everything to the "standard" of above companies.
At any rate this forum is creating a change--small for now--but as more people become aware (like gym owners--we have a couple on here) quality will rise above the standard. At least that is my hope.
Any way, if rogers equip shows up again I'm game for a few pieces (if I haven't purchased direct by then).

Guys, just let the mods delete any posts from her. Its not worth your time. I'm currently having an attorney deal with this person. She is a supposed OBGYN resident from the UK, I had talked to for a while before going to visit Panatta. We decided to meet while I went over to Europe. I started to notice signs of 'improper behavior' once before I came to Europe, and should have listened to my gut. In any case, it is rather obvious why I could not even be friends with her. I had to break all communication due to this obviously illegal slander and behavior. She actually called the hospital a couple weeks ago and hung up on my resident after asking for me. We have documented everything, including the phone numbers of origin. Katie99 which is her account which she mistakenly thinks is anonymous, just like all of the crazy skype messages, text messages to my cell phone. It is illegal, and it is not annonymous as she thinks. If she is truly a doctor in training in the UK, she should not do illegal slander and harrassment. I have asked her to cease and desist all communication, yet this harrassment continues from her. The best thing you can do is just ignore the crazy messages and let the mods delete them. I appreciate your understanding, as I know some of us have had obsessive stalkers in the past. The shame is I even bought her dinner a few times while I was in Vienna. I treated her in a very respectful manner. The only scam is her illegal behavior. If someone decides they don't want to communicate with you, you cannot harrass them and make up lies about them, it is illegal and harmful. This will be my last post regarding this person, but I feel it necessary to share, as this thread is about equipment.

Hi, Chris. This is the best thread ever. I've been lurking here since your original post and have learned a lot about fitness equipment in all these years. Now a have a question: What is the converging angle of the Panatta super horizontal (and incline) bench press? They appear to have a pretty steep angle, whereas the Atlantis decline/horizontal chest press seems to have only a slight convergence angle. And the nebula benches have even less convergence. Your favorite benches must have a very different feel between each other. How do you compare them? Can you tell me the Atlantis's convergence angle? What would be the "perfect" angle of convergence in your opinion?
Congratulations for you amazing gym.Last edited by marcio107; 05-04-2015 at 02:20 PM.

Thank-you.
I think measuring convergence is a bit difficult. The curved arms on the panatta make it a bit difficult to measure. When Rudy Panatta makes a new design, he does it the old fashion way, and pounds on the steel or such from what Edoardo tells me. He really builds them from the ground up himself. He then listens to feedback. Hes not the tallest person, hence probably why the Super incline needed adjusted for taller people, which is the feedback he got from the prototype that was taken to France. I think the super incline is absolutely amazing. I'm asking to have the seat lowered to better accommodate people taller than 6' 0". In actuality, the 3 grip Nebula incline could also use the seat lowered a few inches for people taller than 6' 0".
Anyway, I think convergence is difficult to measure. I also think its a bit simplistic to say something is non-converging, like Pendulum equipment/Tyler Hobson. With fixed arm machines, you are forcing the motion to follow a path. I think just because the path is 'straight' doesn't make it better than something that is 5 degrees or 10 degrees, or even slightly complex (like the curved Panatta arms). Nothing wrecked my shoulders until I used that Pendulum vertical chest. I have good shoulders and usually do things that might hurt someone else... but that Pendulum vertical chest ('non-converging') was a shoulder wrecker according to a few of us that have used it.
One way or another, with a fixed arm machine, you are forcing the arm to follow a fixed path... you may as well make it 'natural'. I think Panatta has excelled in making his 'convergence' or motion path feel very natural. He does use a lot of convergence, but perhaps because of the curved arms, it feels more natural. To answer your question, yes, I'd say the Nebula has the least amount of convergence, the Atlantis in-between, and Panatta the most. However, the Panatta machines, at least the ones I recommend feel amazing. I don't know what I can tell you other than I would never part with the Panatta machines or the Atlantis adjustable decline chest.
For the Panatta Super Horizontal chest, Super Incline Chest, and Deltoid press, they are the only machines that truly seem to match the path I would take using dumbbells.Last edited by HealthNutMD; 05-05-2015 at 03:30 PM.

Pendulum Hip Press
I was wondering if anyone here owns a Tyler Hobson Pendulum Hip Press (1st or 2nd Gen) what the dimentions are? As far as the frame length and width? Also how much it weighs. I have my eye on a used one. The pictures online make it look small but the videos make it look massive. If anyone could help out that would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am new to this but have been bodybuilding all my life and have been lucky enough to travel and train at gyms all over the country. Sadly, I live in city with very crappy gyms, so I decided to make my own home gym. The info on here is amazing. I'm planning on making a trip to Legend in a few months to try some of their gear.
