Holmgren said he's interested in us but we're not interested in him. Awkward.

That feel when you just want to hire coordinators and not even have a HC at all.

I was so glad to hear we had no interest in the guy. The fact that he was leading the poll for who the next HC should be on Webzone says just how stupid the niners fanbase is for the most part.
The guy has been out of football for nearly a decade and everyone wants him back just because he had success way back when. When someone has been out of the game for so long you really have to question their dedication and whether they still know how to get the job done.

Fans are turning on the management even more after Holmgren was denied. I really think the interviews are just to keep the media happy and they're going to promote Fangio. No other reason you'd deny him the chance to interview with other teams.

Was hoping they'd lose and the media would blame Jim like they used to blame Jessica for Romos losses. Ofcourse Flacco decides to go full Montana and the PI flags march them down the field. Ravens just seem to have Steelers number in clutch games much like Seattle does with us. Watching that game was too much real life. Steelers couldn't pass rush for **** or protect their QB.

I'd rather Flacco go full Montana and win another SB then have either the Cowboys or the Seahawks win it.
Speaking of, are you guys still watching the playoffs since the Niners are out. I think it would be funny if the Panthers win it all but I know that's not happening.

Still watching them but not the same when the niners aren't in it obviously. Seattle gets incredibly lucky again and gets to face a 7-9 team at home after a bye week when they're already very healthy while Green Bay has to play the Cowboys when those two teams are much more dangerous for Seattle.
Hell Detroit would be a much bigger challenge for Seattle than Carolina. I was hoping to see Detroit win and have Suh step on Russell Wilson without noticing him in the pocket. Not to mention it would've been interesting to see Calvin and Tate face that secondary.

Seattle is winning the Superbowl unless they get a string of injuries or run into a healthy New England squad in Arizona.

I cannot stand Holmgren. I would have been furious had they hired him. I just got back from driving from Sacramento to Phoenix today... I must say that the 49ers sports talk stations are absolutely God awful. I'm astonished at how stupid the majority of those hosts are. They're all still riding Harbaugh's dick as if we just fired Bill Walsh. They also bash Kaepernick as if he was a Top 5 pick overall. He's a 2nd round quarterback. Those guys are expected to develop slower, thus they get drafted later.

I think the only position Fangio was denied was the Redskins DC job which would have not been a lateral move. I think they would have already hired Fangio if he was truly their hands down #1 guy. He could still be but i think they are trying to interview everyone they can and some of these guys are still in the playoffs.

So York fired a bunch of older dudes because he wanted the organization to bring in younger dudes so they could move in a different direction. The older dudes were given no real reason as to why they were fired. One of them even was given the employee of the month (or year) award the year before he was fired. Awesome to see this pop up right now. Surprised this is on the forums yet.Free Agent...

A little more details to that story
Colin Kaepernick, who last month said he was compiling a list of quarterback experts with which to work this offseason, has settled on a spot.
According to his agent, Kaepernick will train in the Phoenix area at EXOS performance where he will study with former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner and quarterback coach Dennis Gile, who played in the NFL, CFL and Arena League. EXOS is formerly API (Athletes Performance Institute), which is where a number of college players prepare for the draft.
Warner, 43, is a four-time Pro Bowler and MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV who retired after the 2009 season. He will be on hand a few days each week to work with Kaepernick on film study, charting plays (so-called “board work), 7-on-7 drills and other mental aspects of the game.
Gile, meanwhile, is a former quarterback at Central Missouri State where in 2002 he set a passing efficiency record with a rating of 214. He's worked with elite high school prospects, college and professional quarterbacks in the offseason, including Tim Tebow and Christian Ponder.
A number of NFL wide receivers, including the Giants' Odell Beckham and the Dolphins’ Jarvis Landry, are expected to train at EXOS this offseason. So will a number of Kaepernick's teammates. Receivers Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington and fullback Bruce Miller are expected to attend. Kaepernick will arrive in Phoenix next week, and the plan is for him to train there until the start of the 49ers’ offseason program in March.
One of the college players working out there is Arizona State receiver Jaelen Strong, who also presumably catch passes from Kaepernick.
Interesting that Jaelen Strong will be there....not that Baalke should listen to Kap over his scouts but certainly some inside scoop from the QB won't hurt. Strong is definitely one of the guys I'm eyeing for the niners in this draft.
Strong, White or Parker in the first would certainly be ok in my book.

Lets figure out a way to keep the Mizzou pipeline and get this guy in SF. Sat out all last year because of a botched transfer, so its hard to know how high he will be projected.

EXOS, out here in Phoenix, was formerly known as Athletes Performance. I actually live about 5 miles from the facility, a few of the people who work out at my gym also train there.
I think Warner is a pretty good guy for Kaepernick to work with in terms of QB fundamentals.
I don't think its all that surprising for Strong to be training there, a lot of the top ASU prospects routinely end up there since its pretty much just down the road, literally up the 101 from Tempe.
EDIT-Nice company to train with.
According to Barrows, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry are expected to be attending the workouts. Additionally, Quinton Patton, Bruce Ellington and Bruce Miller are among the 49ers that will be present.Last edited by ElMariachi; 01-06-2015 at 07:59 PM.
Russell Wilson, the first QB in NFL history to throw a game-winning interception.
