Its kind of mind blowing for a guy to have that long of a career and never shoot 50%.
Even perimeter guys like, Durant, Dirk, Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin and Bird have shot at least 50% once, even small guys like Monta Ellis and Chris Paul have shot 50%
Might be the only top 10 player to have never shoot 50% in a season.

How has Kobe never shot 50% once in a season?

Look at LeBron. He shot 65% or something crazy this season and he couldn't do a damn thing to stop the Spurs. Nothing.
And your true answer can be found by reading post #4, although, Kobe always focused on defense as well too. He took shots where there was only going to be a fraction of a second between getting blocked and getting the shot off in time just to send a message to defenders. Kobe never showed a defender any respect from what I can recall.Word is Bond

It's a type of mentality you can't even begin to comprehend. Probably because you try to play like LeBron aka a scared lil bitch in the clutch. When you're as good as Kobe is you don't let up. Even if you know you're in a shooting slump. Kobe Bryant = relentless and he's looking to embarrass his assignment and make him feel like quitting.
You're idol LeBron James was playing really well in game 5 1st half this summer. But when the second half came along, he was being guarded tight by Kawhi and din't put a shot up until at least 5 minutes had passed in the third. Don't you wish he had stayed aggressive kept shooting? Well that's too bad Sdbox, he's not of that killer mentality. He doesn't believe in himself enough to take over and he's not willing to make mistakes for himself and the team.Word is Bond

Lol? Only you could formulate a personal attack based around LeBron James, as if I myself am LeBron.
any shooter knows you need a short memory, but when you are just simply shooting your team out of games? That is a bad thing bro. It's easy to spot people who have never played bball at any competitive level lol
I love how you ignored that JORDAN would refocus his efforts if his shot didn't fall, so you are willing to apparently openly insult Jordan for Kobe .... but I'm the illogical homer here?
Haha ok.Originally Posted by RogerSterling i workout for my health, dont feel the need to eat if i'm not hungry since i still get plenty of puss being the weight i am now.

I also want to note that anybody that ever watched the Lakers, anytime the shot clock got to 3-5 seconds if any player had the ball other than Kobe, they'd often panic and pass to Kobe to make a catch and shoot, no matter even if doubled, With only a second or 2.
Also Kobe often didn't mind taking every shot at the end of the quarter IE: inbound passes at every quarter etc... stuff that a lot of stars these days shy away from. Every year those numbers/misses/% add up.
Not saying this happened EVERY shot clock, or EVERY possession, but he's taken more last second or any end of the quarter shot than any star in recent memory.Modified PHAT master race

Unless you are saying that it happened at EVERY single one, then the number is obnoxiously insignificant to any sort of %.
This thread is literally kobe stans making excuses for not even a bad percentage for a high volume shooter. This is how ****ing insecure you are. 45% is fine for his volume. You're so unsure of it that you make more and more excuses.
Ironically, you need these excuses because the guy YOU force comparisons to happens to shoot a catastrophically better percent.Originally Posted by RogerSterling i workout for my health, dont feel the need to eat if i'm not hungry since i still get plenty of puss being the weight i am now.

He essentially took every end if the quarter shot (even at full court lengths) and nearly twice a game has taken shots of catch/shoots when other players panic and just pass to Kobe because there's 3 seconds left. That eventually adds up to at least 100 shots over the course of the season, which would lower the %
but I wouldn't expect you to know/see these things, Since you're a box score watcher and have provably watched < 20 full laker games in your life. There's never been a star I'm recent memory that has taken as many end of the quarter or at the shot clock shots as he has, which would eventually lower ones % over time. I'm assuming to don't watch whenever the likes of any player OTHER than shaq or Gasol would panic and look for kobe if the clock was at 3 seconds. Heck, often even gasol would panic.Modified PHAT master race

Hasn't shot 40% from beyond the arc either. He's no Goran Dragic, that's for sure OP.

It's because of the type of player he is paired with the era he has played in. Kobe is a shooting guard who often had to create his own shot. Not many, if any, players of the past 10 years that fit this profile have shot 50% in one season. Go back further though and you will see players that fit this profile like MJ or Drexler, and this is because of the way the game was played in the early 90s and earlier. A lot more fast breaks and worse team defenses leads to easier shots which lead to higher FG%. Kobe obviously has never had great shot selection so I'm not suggesting he'd average 50% over a career like MJ if he played in that time, but I'm fairly certain we'd see him crack 50% at least once.

Cause he is a jump shooter and takes unecessary jumpers. For ex; shoots over 3 people, shots against the shot clock, fadeaways, etc.
