So my school has this 1000 pound weight compitition

It's pretty cool, and I plan to give it a shot next year. Only 4 people have done it at our school. Ever. But the schools only been open for 6 years :P

Anyhow, this is how it goes. Theres 4 weight lifting exercises you have to do, Clean, Bench press, Trap bar Deadlift, and squat. Your weight combined on those 4 must be a thousand or over. And at the end of that you have to do 15 pull ups to finish it.

Who here thinks they can finish it? I personally think I can do it EASY next year, I'm surprised only 4 people have done it. You win a t-shirt

doesnt sound too bad if you have a year to train, a lot of people are in the 1000 pound club without including clean

shoot if i could do that. that would be awesome. i can probably do like 400 all combined. lol maybe not even. Put i sure can do the pull ups

Yeah, I'm guessing that's where people fail mostly. I can get 16 on a fresh day at the moment, I might need to work on that.

I can get 982 on all those 4, but i can only do 1 or 2 pullups hahaha(and my deadlift was with straight bar)

It's trap bar deadlift though, so much easier. My max is 450 on it, where my conventional is 325.

wow i would think a school would have a 2 lift 1000 group. like deadlift + squat for 1000.

x2... but it is all in a row, do they give you like 30second break between exercices??? and are the pullups IMMEDIATELY after the lifts ?

if so, then that sounds abit tough, to have that much energy to complete the pullups.

it wont be that bad..... All the other lifts are 1 reps....they wont tax it too much as none of them are hit the back and lats too much. Sure they will be used it the clean and deads but not heaps

Yeah, I wish we hard it but it's supposed to be Bench, Squat and Dead.

But the only thing that would be really hard would be the pullups I can do like 5 unweighted.

Yeah. No one really runs it, you can attempt it at any time after school. Lavells always at the weight room.
