See the "ring" ring on screen and type "ATA"
Not really internet, but I remember installing Doom 2 for the first time...
that DOS
7 floppy disks
a:/install.exe
c:/doom2.exeMany Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

compaq 400c 486 dx2 processor, windows 3.1, aol 2.5-3.0
i was so new to software and windows, i had no clue how to install drivers and configure sys files for the included 14.4k fax modem card i had gotten with the laptop.
so i ended up buying a ZOOM 56k modem, aol recognized it, everything worked. 1998, maybe 97 i was on the internet at home. brb pixelated MPG, MPEG pron clips. beating off to 16bit pics of black females that were probably scanned from an old 90's or 80's magazine.
ahh yess the good old days. then i got into ti calculators, oh mannn there was a huge world out there for calculator programming and games. i remember spending hours and hours downloading every ti-82 game and app.
using the win 3.1 ti calc software. reading all the geochitty pages, yahoo pages, and websites for calculator programming, and beating off to 8bit 16bit pics.
i'd give anything to have that original laptop back, i threw it away because the display was fuked up. i coulda repaired it at my age now. and the hdd i wish i could get all my old files off of, i threw it away too.
so in memory i ended up buying an almost identical laptop
when i recieved this laptop, i was really hoping there was some cached web pages still stored i could look at, but im unable to retrieve anything yet, all browser history is cleared.
im open for ideas. i really hope theres some pictures tucked away of me using that old laptop as a kid. would nostalgia-tears in a heart beat.★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ Humid South Crew ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆ ★ ☆

I'm old. I remember 28kps modems and even the ones previous to that. There was no Google. There was not even an AOL yet.
Moore's Law Brahs. I'm truly amazed at how far things have come in just ten years. How many people has high speed net in say 2003? Now there is not only high speed Wifi everywhere but cellular data speeds now beat home WiFi in some areas. It's truly mind blowing."Johan tells me that your luggage, is the luggage of the poor."
