I had some especially fun times with one of the new guys, trying to explain things, except then he often seemed to go do the exact opposite!
And, since everyone wants videos...
This weekend, I competed in the USPA Beast of the Bluegrass meet just outside Frankfort, Kentucky. It was Brandon Lilly's first time running a USPA meet, and it turned out pretty well. They also had a strongman meet going on next door, so added bonus. Friday morning, I dropped SMR off at the airport and shipped him off for hard labor in China. Then, I drove to Kentucky. Forgot that there was a time change in between, so I missed early weigh ins. Sat around my hotel all afternoon, weighed in at 123.4 (probably better that I didn't make the early weigh-in), then spent the rest of the night eating, sleeping, stretching, and foam rolling.
Saturday morning, got up, ate more foods, headed to the meet. Somewhat ironically, I did this meet just to do something kind of local and low-key, but ended up head-to-head with Caitlyn Trout, both of us gunning for the 123 USPA and all-time records. It actually ended up being really fun, though. Met lots of new people, had a good time, and had a great day lifting:

226 (good, PR)
231 (good, PR, suuuuuuuper slow)
Deadlift:
318 (good)
336 (good)
347 (no good)
Total:
881 (400kg)
All in all, 8/9, PR squat, bench, and total, certainly can't complain. After that, I drove home and went to bed. To recover today, I went to church, played a game of soccer, did some recovery stuff in the gym, moved a recliner and a treadmill down the street, and worked in my garden. It's been a good weekend.
AND, as an added bonus, here's my first meet video in like a year. Some of the angles are a bit odd, but when you go to a meet alone and ask someone to video for you, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit. I'm just glad I actually got video!

Yeah, I did. I actually didn't know who won until awards were announced, which is okay with me. I got a nice second-place medal for best lifter.

Thanks, and yay! Some of my strength is probably directly attributable to the kimchi omelette I had the week before the meet.
I've done both. The intermediate one did pretty well for me the first time I ran it. After that I definitely had diminishing returns, though. I got good at doing reps, not as good at maxing out.
The beard is your only chance. Get on it!
