Thanks for your thoughts guys. I have narrow feet so it's going to be either adidas or pendlay. The PPII's I can get for around 100 here. I'm not necessarily convinced the extra for the adipowers is worth it, especially at my level... and I'm so mad I missed the half off sale on the pendlays!! I may email them to ask when they're getting the new ones in and if it's going to be a wait just go for the ppii's.

Fail Workout
So I should have taken yesterday off. I was due for a day off. But nooooooo. I went in and started warming up for snatches with bodyweight jump squats and it became very apparent very fast that my left knee is angry with me swelling, heat and clicking. Fuk. I am icing it as I type.
I bailed on snatches, went to try to bench instead, and ended up doing more damage to my left lat. It had been feeling ok but still a bit nagging ever since I did whatever to it at the beginning of the week, and I thought I could ignore it but now it is on fire.
Pretty mad at myself for being stupid.
Rofl if I had that kind of balance that could work! Heel elevation is heel elevation!!
Happy NY to you too doll, and to all of you. Thanks for hanging out in heretraining log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51

If you here back from them on whether they are going to be back in stock anytime soon keep me up to date. I wish I would have got a pair half off, because that is a crazy good deal.
Goodluck with those nagging injuries. Take a day or two off to work them out. If you don't have knee sleeves, I would get an ace bandage and wrap that knee during your training.Total's = Jan. 2012 - 1036 @ 198's

MD Canada ended up putting their 2011 pendlays on a good sale so I just went for it and ordered a pair of those.
Thanks. Yeah, with my pre-existing pathology I should really have started wrapping before moving into full cleans. Seeking the Oly forum's feedback on whether to do ace bandages or just bite the bullet and get a pair of legit wraps now.training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51

Random Workout
Took New Year's off to give myself some time to recover. Went in for kind of an odd workout yesterday to do stuff that didn't bother my lat or knees.
Pre-W/O:
5 mile cardio
foam rolling
quad/hammy/piri stretching
Rack Jerks
Have to keep weight conservative since I can't drop them. So annoying that there aren't any bumpers.
45 x6 x3
50 x6
55 x6
60 x6 as singles
Deadlift
Easy.
90 x5
110 x3
135 x1
Chins
bw assisted x10 x3
Bi Curl/Tri PD Superset
40 x6 x3 curls
25 x8 x3 PDs
Hanging Leg Raises
bw x10 x3
Knees feeling better today. May go for that 90 bench tonight depending on how my back feels.training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51

good looking workout and I am almost at the point where I want to just guide them down and let them drop anyway haha.
I was also contemplating for the past 2 months that when I have some spare change I am going to buy 2 bumper plates and bring them in with me and just use smaller weights on the outside so the only thing hitting when being dropped are the bumpers.
Couple of pendlay encon v2's or something locally from fitnesstown or whatever it's called.the latest and greatest in training...or whatever.

I like my 2011 Pendlays a lot. I doubt you will be disappointed. I'm going to guess the Olympic forum will say use ace bandages under some knee sleeves. What legit wraps were you thinking of? I hope you weren't thinking of powerlifting knee wraps because they aren't meant to be worn for knee health.

Ty mosh! Welcome back!
Bad news - there's a group of us who would have done similar, but we're friends with some of the trainers (so we get away with murder for the most part) and they've let us know in no uncertain terms that we wouldn't be allowed to drop them. They're worried about the fact that it's on the third floor and the pool underneath. Strong design
lol obvi I have no idea what I am talking about. You guys got it in one. I'll just ask here next time. I wrapped with Ace bandages tonight and a longer sock over them and felt a lot more stable and confident - full cleaned 65 as working weight and ATG front squat felt like cake. Will look into sleeves.
Went away pretty quickly with the two days off, luckily. Iced it and sat in the sauna rolling a ball around on it to speed up the process.
Lol how could I miss that. Catchy... are they singing in German?
^^ this no local options for Oly gyms either. Brb opening one... if only I had the startup capital...training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51

^^Move to southern Ontario (don't actually ... it sucks here) and train with me. Great powerlifting/oly gym here with tons of bumper plates. Slam to your heart's content (pun intended?)

Day 1 - just like mama said... ♬
Jan 2
Between my knees and my lat, knees felt better. Wrapped with ace bandages and they made a big difference to my confidence/stability.
Warmup
45 minutes infrared sauna/rolling stick esp on knees/stretches
15 mins yoga stretches/foam rolling
supps: b complex, bcaa's, assault, creatine
Power Snatches
Moving into more of a hybrid power/full. Goal to do full asap.
45 x3reps x5sets
50 x1 x5
Cleans
Present biggest problems are: back angle too horizontal (flexibility-related), popping too early when bar is too low (retardedness-related).
45 warmups
55 x3 x10
65 x1 x30
Back Squats
55 x9
65 x7
75 x8
85 x5
Front Squats
ATG and felt so easy to stay upright with the knees wrapped.
50 x6
55 x5
Post-W/O
cardio: 2 miles jog
glute/hamm/piri/quad/calf stretches
supps: multi, fish oil, vit D/C, CLA, antiox

There actually is a crossfit/oly gym on Hornby. It's called Studeo 55 but pricey @ $100/month.
They have a bunch of on-site stuff though like chiro and physio. But not sure if you get access or it's extra ontop of the membership.
Edit: they have 4 lifting platforms and are getting 4 more.
Definitely tempting deposits the price, provided they don't have fuxking crossfit going 24/7.
Not open Sundays either meh.Last edited by Filmbuff81; 01-03-2013 at 08:03 PM.

Damn that gym looks nice. That is defs not in my budget right now.... but I am looking for a job change...
The ones I ordered are black - will post pics when I get them. I think the Reeboks are more meant for crossfit, not serious lifters.
Heyyyy baby.
That is the best writeup I have seen - thank you!! I like the triangle metaphor for the second pull... that is what is giving me trouble right now... that and the hip flexibility to get the initial back angle correct.training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51
