Embarrassingly low. Raw was 335 several months ago, and is probably higher by now. Best shirted in competition is 451 (when my raw was 315 if I was lucky), and that was a gift. I think the screaming and extreme pain made them take pity on me. It certainly wasn't due to a smooth press or a lockout, since I managed neither.
If I don't hit 500 in April, I'm just going to shoot myself and be done with it. Since I was getting about 140-150 out of an ill-fitted F6 while fighting severe forearm pain, I'm hoping a properly tight one will do a bit better, particularly now that I don't have the pain problem any more. That, and getting stronger.

What is everyone's opinion on when to add their belt during working sets? Tomorrow I'm working up to 5 x 3 @ 75% and debating if I should even bring my belt at all. I also am doing 50 rep rest pause squat with a plate on and some GM as well for volume if that means anything

I belt up most anything over 225-275 but I've had back surgery so I tend to be a bit overly cautious...
Can you be cautious and compete in SM/PL???Better Body Sports

thats what I've been doing lately , since my first two years of PLing i never used a belt, and now I use it when i get around 50-60% just to be used to the feeling of having the belt on. If I only used it for my top work sets, it would throw me off. I've gotten used to it and now not using it as early on, cause obviously dont need the extra pressure for lightweightsRecovering fatass

Going for two dozen glazed tonight. Getting 1 dozen glazed and 1 dozen assorted was super rough.

12-28-2012, 08:26 AM #916It'd be like staying fat while running marathons because it's more impressive to finish a marathon when you're overweight. It might be impressive in the short run, but in the long run it just doesn't make any sense. ~breathinglife

what's an easy way to get a 2-8" block pull? I'm pretty sure concrete blocks would break. maybe a piece of 3/4 cd plywood with 1 5/8s stacked under it? or even 2x12s?

I used plates when I had to do 4" pulls, sucked b/c bar rolled around and resetting each rep was difficult but there was no power rack to adjust pins and no boxes to use as blocks. Stacked 2 35lb plates and it was roughly 4", you can also use 1" mats stacked but as weight goes up it'll sink in the mats and might have to accommodate with an extra 1/2 inch or so.

It's a gift and a curse. Using CarbNite, I got as low as a depleted 200lbs before my wedding in October. Once I got my glycogen refilled and put on some fat during the week long honeymoon, I was 215. The holidays have done the rest. It's a gift and a curse. I could easily make 220s if I really wanted to but what's the difference between 219 and 225 in terms of Wilks points? Not a lot.
