    That looks like Riptoe's starting strength set up. If that's correct then it means, 3 work sets of 5 reps with the same weight and 1 work set of 5 reps

    Okay let's explain the numbers

    3x5 Squat


    The "3" means the number of sets. The "5" means the number of reps for each set.


    What it means is that you will do:
    5 squats,
    take a break
    5 squats,
    take a break,
    5 squats.


    The same goes with other exercises. (except for the deadlift one. I'm sure you noticed it's 1 set)

    They are simple multiplication problems..3x5=15 squats

    Nah just kidding..it means 3 sets of 5 reps.
