I really like to jump rope - it gets my heart rate up and I think it's fun. So I'm wondering, for those of you who also jump rope, how do you incorporate it into your workout?

Jumping Rope
The question is not "who is going to let me," it's "who is going to stop me?"

It used to be part of my boxing workout, but it makes me incontinent! Even if I pee right before I do it, I leak embarrassing amounts of urine within seconds of starting to jump, so I had to stop doing it. It's a great workout, though! Just think of it as interval cardio. In boxing, it's usually 2.5 mins steady pace, 30 seconds fast, then 1 minute rest, and then all over again.

I add it as cardio too, you can mix it up like mammajo said or do it steady, pretty much when ever you want. I like to do it after weights sometimes or just alone. It is also a great way to do cardio on a rainy day or when you are stuck at a hotel with no gym, not that you wanted to know I just get all carried away and excited about jump roping...

I use it to warm up as well as incorporating it into my total cardio time allocated. I have a problem as well with the pee pee issue, but I have learned to keep my lower abs tense and that seems to help. Some other women in my gym just wear pads on the days they know they are jumping rope. Sounds like a lot of hassle, but it is an awesome cardio/warm up exercise. Also, I personally have "jump rope goals" as I am not able to do double unders yet, so I would hate to give it up. There are some really awesome jump rope sights out there that can give you some cool modifications so you just aren't jumping straight up and down too...makes it less tedious...Good luck!
