I have had a weird thing with my feet where sometimes when doing Leg Press they kind of spaz out and severe cramping occurs to the point where I have to sit down for a good 5 minutes and massage my foot and sometimes am in pretty bad pain.
I am already doing squats, so what would the most effective quad exercise be to replace Leg Press?
I'm thinking Leg Extensions are better than Lunges

Already doing SLDL, but for hamstrings not quads...
And the foot thing, I dunno ... but it sporadically would happen before I ever started lifting ... it almost feels like my joints are out of place or something ... it hurts like a bitch but the pain subsides in a couple minutes.
For whatever reason the angle the Leg Press is at makes my feet very vulnerable to this.Max-OT Style Training Journal:

You could even try 1/2 squats as a burnout after squats; just add about 50 lbs (maybe more) and only go down halfway, then come back up. I use this occasionally as part of my leg day and my quads are on fire after only 2 sets of half squats. A word of caution, these are always done best in a power rack with pins since you're going heavier than normal squat weight.
BB lunges are also good, you could try around 125 lbs for 8 reps. I'd start out light for safety's sake, you can also go heavier.
I'm wondering, what kind of leg press machine do you use? Also, can you tell if you're really squeezing your feet when you lift? I used to get cramps in my feet back when I was a gymnast, holding L's, just from the super concentration for the toe point.
One last thing, this probably isn't the cause, but sometimes muscle cramps are caused by a deficiency such as potassium/calcium/sodium. These three nutrients are all key when it comes to muscle contraction. Sometimes my mom will get debilitating foot/calf cramps and will eat a banana to alleviate the pain. It's worth a shot, right?
You may want to see a doctor if it doesn't go away.You're = you are.
Your = your.
