yea bro it does't matter whether you're lifting or not. Off days is when your muscles recover and grow so it would b smart to eat protein and carbs.

Dude, I think you just invest in a good book and read up on some nutrition basics. Protein is essential for bodily functions.

muscles are not made in the gym, they are made when your body rests

increased protein intake upregulates protein sythisis

protein intake has little no dirrect effect on catabolic rates although the protein can give the catabolic enzymes something to chew on other than muscle. the point is in order for growth to occur, anabolism has to exceed catabolism, this only occurs if you are getting enough protein
    Nothing is ever easy

    Bump D&G

Yeah, I think that you really need to do some research as there are some really nasty bastards here (I put my hand up also) and if they see questions as basic as that then you might be flamed to hell and back.

Magazines and books will help you with nutrition or you could even use the SEARCH button here, but asking questions that would seem like common sense to us might result in some vicious attacks on you.

You need to protein, carbohydrates and fats EVERYDAY!!!
