    Substitute for whey? (postworkout)

As of recently for some odd reason, everytime i drink whey protein i end up with an upset stomach an hour later. Now, i've been drinking whey for a long time (2+ years) and i've never encountered this problem until now.

My questions is, is there anything i can eat/drink that can substitute whey protein as a post workout?

Are you taking WPC? Are you lactose intolerant?

    Try WPI.

Or just eat a whole meal as soon as you get home.

    Egg protein will work too.

Im was drinking ON Whey and no im not lactose intolerance.

As for real food, i thought about this but i was worried about the absorb rate compared to protein shakes. It shouldnt matter that much right?

As for egg protien as a post-workout, do i just crack the egg and drink it straight up raw?

It's better to avoid fat postworkout, so whole eggs are not recommended. Got egg whites?

Just have a whole meal as soon as you get home, won't make a significant difference.

whoa... you could do that, but its prob not gonna taste too hot. You can buy egg protein (I think it's in a powder form) and mix that up

I went through a stage where whey was affecting me also. Just go out to the store and buy the egg whites in a carton. The kind i used was 99% egg whites, these also are safer to drink raw so salmonella and all that isnt a factor. I used them in my shake instead of the whey and you actually can't even taste them.

boyscouT, if you dont have a shake, wont your muscles be depleted and in need of carbs/protien immedietely (fast digesting?) Plus your meal would have to have limited fats as well.

    how about Isopure?
The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on

Whole food. If you have adequate pre workout nutrition, you don't need a pwo shake. Besides, the anabolic window is not so small. I only use shakes pwo when bulking and in a hurry. That being said, I would not deliberately slow the digestion by adding fats such as those in nuts, oils or yolks.
