Smile PPL 6days on 1 day off. what's too much?

So I'm only going for hypertrophy. I am pretty much fully recovered to hit each muscle twice a week. I'm slowly adding more exercises to my program, but perhaps I should be focusing on the rep range or sets? I'm just always afraid of neglecting some exercise to get a lagging muscle-imbalance.

I'm sure there's no right and wrong answer but I'm kinda wondering how many exercises per muscle group to go for?

If you feel you're advanced enough to do a 6-day PPL, do whatever keeps you progressing.

The answer isn't going to be the same for everyone, or one right answer even for the same person. There are so many variables here.

Most people add too many exercises. They think every muscle needs to be hit from every angle... That stuff is somewhat true for pro-bodybuilders in the later parts of their training cycles. Most natural guys need quality over quantity I find.

I'm guilty of that sh*t too, waiting for somebody to powder my nuts cuz I did 20 reps of whatever the **** on the bench. Big f*king deal. It is all relative." G Diesel

If it motivates you, try it out.

Keep a log here on the forum.

    See if you're capable of:
    A. Staying consistent
    AND
    B. Making progress

Post an honest review after running it for 3 to 6 months so you can understand what worked for you and what didn't

What you shouldn't do is consistently change your program and exercises

If you feel you want more volume through a mesocycle, look into volume ramping sets

The question is why? 4 days seems to get everyone who puts in the work to their full potential…

This is so true. I've just recently got into 6day PPL so I didn't know beforehand how much recovery I would need to be able to hit each muscle twice as week but I do recover faster than I expected and I can also go to failure and pump as much blood in as possible.
    Gonna experiment with volumes.
