Cut done with - basically unsuccessful first bulk as I did put on a lot of fat to go with the little muscle I added. I know what I did wrong first time round and won't be repeating it. Looking forwards to being able to eat a few hundred more calories!! At least I know I can cut fat efficiently: went from 143lbs to 120lbs and from 35in to 29in waist.

My biggest gym idiot moment happened when I was 19, and still fairly new to lifting. One day, I was doing standing calf raises on a Smith Machine with about 250lbs on the bar...with my toes on a Reebok Step (for a greater ROM) Well, on about my second rep, the step flipped out from under me, sending the weight rushing down and folding me up like an accordion in a squat position in about .2 seconds flat. Amazingly, I was unhurt, but I took it as a sign, walked out of the gym, and never did that again.
I've seen plenty of gym idiocy over the years, but one thing recently that made me stop and shake my head was I found a 10kg plate someone had left, balancing on the base of the preacher curl handles (about 3 inches wide) Just sitting there. The slightest bump would have sent it falling, bouncing and rolling across the floor. It was like someone had set a trap.

The legitimate use is rehab or balance exercises. It can help develop stabilizer muscles, which is really important especially for women (tend to get injuries based on hip stability). I prefer a balance board, but a bosu turned upside down works well. Or right-side-up, I guess. Also not bad for putting your feet on and doing some pushups with instability.

i got a guy in my gym that cries during sets.
u will hear him yelling, then his voice will crackle and he will cry.
one day after his sets he fell down crying.
and im talking weird sounding cries, with tears and all."It is as if someone were blowing air into the muscle, and it gets this really tight feeling, like it is going to explode...and to me, that feeling is as satisfying as cumming." - Arnold (da man)

Some girl was at my gym today with a 3lb dumbbell in either hand flapping her arms like she was doing the Chicken Dance. Laughed so hard I ruined a set of shoulder presses and had to do them over again. Good thing she had an Ipod with massive headphones on.

I would change this to
If you go to McDonalds and order a big mac w/ super sized fries with a medium diet coke and don't know why're your still fat you are officially an idiot.
If you figure out nutrition, you can eat McD's on a cut just fine. The problem is when fat/sedentary people cut out just the calories from the soda- eat the rest of the it, and can't figure out why they aren't losing weight. You can't help the hopeless.

Yesterday I had a real idiot.
This guy must have been about 140lb and skinny as hell. No hate towards people of that physique, we have to start somewhere but there is a reason he is so small.
My gym is pretty small and only has 2 power racks which contain the only barbells. The idiot was using it for over an hour with light ass weights and didn't even break a sweat by the end of it. The other one was being used by someone who was actually working out properly for about 40 mins of this.
He was alternating between doing 10 reps on the bench, 50 bicep curls with dumbbells (each arm) and 10 pull ups on the rack with long rests between. There must have been nearly 10 minute gaps between using the bench each rotation. He could have done the pullups on the machine and used the dumbbells outside rack but no...
There were at least 3 people waiting (including myself). I ended up doing pushups, dumbbell bench and the machines until it was free but not as effective as using the barbell.
The other idiot I want to mention is the first personal trainer I had at a gym back when I was 21. I was a binman at the time (back when they actually worked hard) so I was already doing 25 miles on foot every day. When I wasn't carrying weight I was running. I made it abundantly clear that I wanted to gain muscle mass and that I already did more than enough cardio.
The trainer they gave me ended up putting me on treadmill, stationary bike and the rowing machine for an hour! Needless to say after the way she ignored my goals I didn't go back to that gym!

Speaking of gym idiots, today I saw two guys (who looked like teens) not-even-half-repping 95-135 lbs on the bench, screaming and flailing all the while as if they were lifting the heaviest weights ever, and then supersetting that with push ups through a 2 inch ROM with their backs, knees, and heads all sagging down while they did them. It was PAINFUL to watch. I kind of wanted to go over there and show them PROPER form myself, but I thought it would be mean/rude to do so, so I just watched and cringed.
Bench press
Current: 135 lbs x 2
Squats
Current: 205 lbs x 1-2
Short term goal: 225 lbs
Lifetime goal: 260 lbs
Deadlifts
Current: 295 lbs x 1
Lifetime goal: 315 lbs

Had an ******* squatting with me the other day... he was a powerlifter and knew what he was doing and he wanted to work in with me (fairly new gym user)... well first he kind of insulted the eights i was using ("is that it??") and not even in a joking manner...snob.
Also he had an accent so i could not understand him very well, communication was a bit awekward when he told me what weights he wanted added on... well i made a mistake and put them too low and ofcourse he started laughing at me (not with me) like as if i didn't know what i as doing....
well i got pissed off but i harnessed my energy into doing my squats trying to ignore his snobish comments...
i would have thought people who have been lifting for years to be more understanding of newbies but i guess not...Get the body YOU want, not the body others tell you to have...

Real men and women who have been lifting for awhile respect the newbies that are doing their best and don't try to do more weight than they should, but occasionally you will run into a real prick that has a small prick and wants to pick on someone to make themselves feel better. Screw him and good for you for using it to fuel your workout. I hate nothing more than experienced people in the gym who forget they were a beginner at some point. Also, a lot of times, those are the guys and girls that have horrible form, despite how long they have been working out and should have learned by now.

The other day I saw a guy on the squat rack trying to squat on a gym ball with 66lbs on him.
When he couldn't balance to get 1 rep out, he kicked the ball away and started trying to do pistols still with the 66lbs, and he only had like 5% ROM. He did like 10 "reps" on each leg. That was the most retarded thing I've ever seen.
I couldn't even hide my wtf face. A PT came to me and asked me if I was feeling ok.+++ 52 books in 52 weeks 2016 crew (28/52) +++

Yes but you probably would've been beated unconscious by the 15 yooofs. Don't worry about it. If they're kunts, they'll have a chit life. No skin off your nose. It happened to me when I was training at a local park years ago. I was practicing kicking with my mate and some fat useless pramface saggy lowriding tit heaps of chit women walked past and started making hiiyaah bruce lee type noises and cackling with laughter. I admit that it irritated me somewhat. However fast forward a few years. I'm strong and can hit hard. They are looser and weaker. Not worth getting agitated about, just laugh at those types of people.
