I have two herding dogs that have never seen a cow or sheep or other herd animal in person, yet they often try and nudge me and get me to move how they want. Genetics matter with dogs.

I believe you that you're a great dog owner and all that stuff, but their potential for violence and damage to humans is so high. Crazy risk to take.

There are a lot of stories like the one in the OP where a complete idiot gets a pitbull from a shelter, thinking it will be a fun dog to dress up in human clothes and take pictures for Instagram. They take their eye off the pitbull for one second too long because they can't decide on what filter to use. Then out of nowhere the dog proceeds to reenact the prison rape scene from Shawshank Redemption with their new #dogmoms face.

So I get you read those stories, and see how responsible and diligent you are, and think your pitbull would never attack someone. But there are just as many stories that start with exactly what you're saying "super friendly, loyal, etc", and end with "I have no idea why he ate my nieces eye socket".

Their capability for violence is so much higher than other dogs, which is why they are so risky to own. The problem is that unlike something like a motorcycle that has a high chance of dismembering you, you cannot choose who your dog is going to dismember. So with something like a motorcycle, you're choosing to take the risk. With a breed like a pitbull, you are imposing an externality on other people.

If the Pitbull has been raised correctly and you introduce it to new people or children they are the most loyal and friendly dogs. They are only dangerous when raised to fight or not trained, along with many other dog breeds.

They do not need to be muzzled. Have walked by many cops and animal control people who have stopped and given my Pitbull a pat etc. If they are aggressive or show signs of it towards other dogs or humans then any larger dog is muzzled, not just Pitbulls.
