Halloween, 2 days away, Do you old Bass Turds have fun with it?

I don't get kids since I moved, but there was a time when I went all out for Halloween. Mega decorations, scary sounds, props etc.. Scared the sh!t out of many kids and parents over the years. I absolutely Love Halloween. I still manage to get treats to the kids though. Yesterday I donated a sh!tload of treats to an old folks home and helped them decorate for Halloween. With Covid, the kids can't enter the home but they have a couple of big rooms off the entrance and the residents can sit in the warmth and watch the little buggers get their treats from the staff stationed outside. How about you guys/gals. Do you enjoy it? How many kids do ya get?

Halloween hasn't been the same in some years here, still kids but nowhere near how many used to go trick or treating.

I get a ton of kids, from babies to 18 year olds. Absolutely love all the costumes and I give out a ton of candy. I also give out bottled water, wife used to make fun of me for that, but those ghosts and goblins get thirsty walking around and the parents appreciate it as well.

That would be so cool. No, the parents dress them up and carry them to the door. I want to say that's over the top but my wife did the same damn thing with my Daughter.

Love Halloween, one of my favorite “holidays”. Last year was the best in a long time because it was on a Saturday, weather was perfect, and everyone was sick of the covid lockdown nonsense. People also got creative with “covid safe” candy dispensing sending it down pvc pipe candy tubes from windows, porches etc. plus I noticed a lot of people in my area giving out full size candy bars. We decorate, probably get 100-200 kids. I usually leave a bucket of candy out and go with my family for awhile before heading back early and getting dinner prepped so it’s ready when they get home. Kind of crappy it’s on a Sunday this year, but still looking forward to it.

We don't get that many kids anymore, many have grown into high school age (like my kids)--but my 8th grade daughter and I still decorate the house and I like to get in my gimmick for answering the door. Question is, do I go Hollywood Hogan or Macho Man this year?

You are my friggin Hero, of all the things I did to scare the sh!t out of people I never once thought of this and almost always having 3 or 4 saws laying around I am very disappointed in me for not thinking of this.

Chit, there is a haunted house in Ocean City MD that did that, I went in that around age 7 or 8 and was scared beyond.

Most trick or treaters ever here. Costumes were great, no squid game ones that I was hoping for.

Mark1T I did have one baby dressed up as werewolf crawl up my stairs, his dad had his handsful with the other kid.

10/10 Halloween, gave out 210 candy bars, a bag of smarties a bag of nerds and 24 bottles of water.

I had a 100-125 kids, mostly little, no covid/medical masks. They were mostly timid though, only 1 kid actually knocked on the door. Only exception was a ~12 year old pirate who was standing with one leg on my porch chair and one on the railing, brandishing a sword. When I opened the door he said something like "I demand some treats for my bag of bounty or off with your head!" There was like 9 other kids on the porch so I couldn't appreciate him as much as I should of - but he was hilarious.

It's heartwarming to read some of the entries here on your guys halloween evening. Sounds like it was a good time, kudos to you guys for making this a special evening for the Littles. Talking to a few locals in town this morning and many areas didn't see many kids while others were flooded with them. The weather may had had something to do with it, started raining just after dark and temps were just above zero and windy.

Earlier I got a call from the administrator at the Old Folks home thanking me for the donation and letting me know how it went. Close to 250 lil buggers went there and they were treated very good, they had 6 outside stations set up and the kids each left with 2 full size bars, 2 chips, soda and a McDonalds or pizza gift certificate.. A local Pizza place donated Pizza for the residents to eat while they watched the kids get their stuff. The Administrator said that the residents had a blast and the kids waving at them really made their night. It turned out well for all..

57 sleeps till Christmas...

I am not a big candy guy, but a bite size Baby Ruth helps when you are exhausted 1 hour into a workout.
