Tourniquet the limbs, pack the junctions, seal the box.
TQ at least 3-4" above wound, if in doubt, go high and tight. Don't worry about losing the limb from the TQ restricting bloodflow, that takes numerous hours to become a thing. You are unlikely to cause damage with a TQ, if there's holy **** that's a lot of of blood squirting out, use it first and ask questions later. For thigh especially check pockets for objects first
When in doubt, direct pressure right at the source and keep it there. Lots of pressure. For what will seem like a long time. Then longer. And probably even more pressure, think full bodyweight.
But that's just what I've picked up I'm no medic

Guess we need to define good...I'd define good as in, "Can I shoot, move, and communicate in conditions of darkness that my likely opponents cannot?" You don't need $15k in gear to get there.
You can get a good Gen 3 PVS14 for $2500 and aim passively with your red dot (nv settings are preferred). You don't need a $3000+ MAWL. A DBAL D2 has a more powerful illuminator and you can find them under $1200.
The cheapest you can possibly use NV is basically monocular, Crye nightcap, wilcox mount, a ****ty J arm, and a NV-compatible Holosun and you're at under $3k for the entire thing. Obviously it's not the best setup ever, but it's usable and a hell of a lot better than one or two extra ARs that sit around collecting dust.
Opscore bump helmet. I have a ballistic helmet too but it's heavy as **** and, like every other ballistic helmet, doesn't really stop rifle bullets.

While I do plan to invest in more set up for NV later, let's be real, most people will get as much legit use from it as another AR or whatever gun they buy; a civilian just isn't likely to need or train with it enough to be effective.
I'll buy one because it's another neat toy to have that I'll rarely use, but first is artificial grass in the yard, new floors, then the Ruger Precision Rifle I want; also looking to get a side by side shotgun, a lever action 45-70, and probably finally a 10/22.
Edit: Remember, for the vast majority, shooting is also a hobby, not like everyone is training for SHTF or to be a LARP Operator (not saying you are).
I like having a wide variety to take to the range a few times a month and have fun with friends just shooting stuff; I train enough through extra range time at work.Last edited by gbullock32; 08-11-2020 at 01:13 AM.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

They work for kids and lazy adults. That's all any pistol safe does. But this one is easier to open quickly.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

In high school and haven't done it again. No thanks jeff.
It's more or less how i've changed my training to mimic as well since gyms are still closed in MI. I've got his bands, and an unfinished basement so my support beams work very well for "planting" the bands. Will probably keep this style even when gyms open back up, with a "power" day at the gym once a week or so.the above post is not serious and is for entertainment purposes only.
Thanks for your time.

What does the Misc recommend regarding sights for an AR15 for general quick target acquisition?
Im looking for a hard working and rugged "Coca-Cola" option and not necessarily the Mercedes Benz...

Trijicon MRO would be the Coca-Cola, fresh, in an ice cold glass bottle.
A kind of cold-ish aluminum can would be a Vortex Sparc AR II
In case you're curious, the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet would be a Vortex Razor HD 1-10.
You don't even want to know what the Ferrari would be, more than you can afford pal
