I weigh 77kg and have been training properly for 5 months my numbers are
130kgx4 deadlift.
100kgx3 squat
75kgx3 bench.
I want to compete in powerlifting and cant seem to find any meets around nottingham in england, also I feel like im not strong enough yet to even compete or should I just do it anyway for the experience?

Too many people think powerlifting is about being "strong enough" compared to others.
It's about being stronger than you were at the last meet.
Meets are a time to enjoy your progress, enjoy the process, and support those around you. There's so much drama on the Internet, but at meets I've never seen anything but an awesome, supportive environment. I've made some of my best friends through powerlifting.

So then you're "not strong enough"...how can you be swayed to compete if you already have pre-conceived notions of what strong enough is.

if you can squat/bench/deadlift the bar your strong enough to compete. For your first competition, don't worry about winning, focus more on going 9/9. Don't bother cutting or making weight, have fun and soak up as much knowledge as possible and meet some cool people.

I can’t deal with the cowardice displayed on a weekly basis by these people asking “am I strong enough to compete?” The answer is obviously NO, your psyche is softer than tissue paper. OP, are you also terrified to go play basketball at the park for fear of getting dunked on? Or going bowling because the guy in the next lane might throw more strikes? Do you avoid driving because your neighbor has a faster car?
Eat a dick OP we don’t need you at the meet.

Nothing to do with fear just a genuine question. I am a very competitive person and want to beat everyone else its my nature but realised powerlifting is more than that, its just in this moment of time since I relatively new to lifting that i believe its not good enough to be competitive just yet but I will be very ****ing strong in years to come (but i will always be dissatisfied because I believe I can become even stronger and better) because I have really high standards for strength and don't accept mediocrity, always looking at the best of the best because if they can do it why cant I? and even if I dont reach that level Ive done the best and become the best I CAN BE . I wanna be the mother****ing best i can be period and its going to take time. Im just gonna do it for experience and keep learning, no need to be a dick about it. you have no idea how strong my psyche really ****ing is.
