I was thinking the same...which, if true, would make his final post on ******** a bit eerie:
Ugh, this is a celebrity death that really affects me. Soundgarden were a big part of the soundtrack to my teenage years. Rest in Peace, Chris.
Man, I think it's going to be a while before I can listen to his voice again without it hurting.

I think he had a few bouts with heavy drugs that he kept under wraps better than others. I would be surprised to hear that he didn't pass directly or indirectly from drug use. Anyway, RIP. There aren't too many bands that were as heavy and dynamic as Soundgarden.

Same. He slid into first place for me over the years though. Fcking devastated. I loved the sht he had been doing and he was one of the few (rock) artists left that I eagerly looked forward to what he'd do next. On another level from everyone else. And I really wanted to see him live (again). This is awful. Chris Cornell and Sharon Jones (and Bowie) are the ones that hurt for me, because the music I still want to hear, mannnnnn
He is in constant rotation, even if I'm listening to like Westside Gunn that day, I still always gotta hear him, srs. ..and this is the last song I played by him (yesterday). The lyrics to this song, though simple, are vivid as fck and one of my favorites, if any of you have not heard...
No fcking way.
