Angry The USA might have just massacred 200 civilians in Iraq...

This should have just as much outrage as the London attacks IMO

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/24/w...smtyp=cur&_r=0

    http://www.latimes.com/world/middlee...324-story.html

"The U.S.-led coalition in Iraq is investigating whether it was responsible for an airstrike in the west Mosul neighborhood of Aghawat Jadidah March 17 that local civil defense officials said killed at least 200. It would be the highest civilian death toll from an airstrike since the battle against the militant group Islamic State began more than two years ago and among the deadliest incidents in modern warfare."

Just a few days ago, the USA also bombed a school in Syria killing 30 civilians.

The United States is arguably the biggest cancer that has ever spawned on this planet.

We are responsible for the death of 200,000+ civilians since 2003. Who knows how many more in Syria. The same can be said about European countries like France, Belgium and the UK, who assisted us.

...and the dumb mother ****ers in Washington are ok with bringing these people in, after we murdered their families and destroyed their homes? These people are thirsty for revenge and rightfully so. Too bad our government is retarded and making their jobs that much easier.

Not that Bush and Obama were great, but Trump did say he was okay with "taking out the family's of terrorists" who are essentially civilians. Not that these people were the families of terrorists. But the civilian casualties have greatly increased since Trump got into power.

Just a few days ago, the USA bombed a school in Syria:

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a7642781.html

More, the USA might have killed 46 people in a mosque in rebel held Syria (they deny this attack), where Al Qaeda affiliates have influence. Supposedly the USA is also backing the Rebels but that might have changed their position since Trump got into power.

"Iraqi officers, though, say they know exactly what happened: Maj. Gen. Maan al-Saadi, a commander of the Iraqi special forces, said that the civilian deaths were a result of a coalition airstrike that his men had called in, to take out snipers on the roofs of three houses in a neighborhood called Mosul Jidideh. General Saadi said the special forces were unaware that the houses’ basements were filled with civilians.

“After the bombing we were surprised by the civilian victims,” the general said, “and I think it was a trap by ISIS to stop the bombing operations and turn public opinion against us.”"

Read the article - ISIS was using the building for sniper attacks, using civilians as human shields, Iraqi Maj Gen called for the airstrike without knowing situation but the USA is the bad guy???

While this attack is horrible, I seriously doubt the USA had the intention of killing civilians. Whereas ISIS inspired terrorists do have the intention of killing civilians.

This is what I assumed immediately upon reading the headline. Very sad indeed. The innocent casualties of war are always the most gut-wrenching.

I don't buy the "oops i killed a few hundred civilians excuse". When it happens for as long as it has been happening, you start thinking that either the people in charge are dumb enough to warrant removing from the gene pool, or evil enough to warrant being shot. 48 hours ago 33 Syrian civilians were killed by a US airstrike.

US assisting Iraq to defeat a reprensible insurgency and as a result of that assistance, there are civilian casualties, is not even slightly the same as a terrorist attack.

There was no intent in killing the civilians. I'm not saying they should get a pat on the back and sent back into duty, but punishing them the same as someone who kills people with malicious intent is wrong. Big difference.

The consequences of this are more severe, but I think intentions matter a lot when we take the perpetrator into account.

It looks like they weren't targeting civilians in this instance, but suppose if the person behind the airstrike decided to kill these people solely based on them being Muslims, that would be far worse than a miscalculation leading the deaths of many civilians.

Given the fact that its a $78 Trillion worth military, they should be able to take any precaution to avoid these death tolls. And as I mentioned earlier, Trump did say that he'd be okay with killing the family's of terrorists and I can't find the article currently, but it was from over a month ago where US officials had basically said they'd take less precaution in their fight against ISIS, but save that claim until I find the exact document.

Americans don't really care about any of this, but it's people like me who have to deal with the fallout from all of this. And we have to deal with from 2 different angles - 1) those people who died? Yeah, their families aren't exactly going to be sane after this and 2) when they end up doing something stupid, a finger gets pointed at me, because i'm Arab

It is the same military. The strongest fighting force on this planet, and the most advanced. What lessons have been learned? None. This has been going on for many, many years. I don't know what the solution is, but i do know that any loss of civilian life is unacceptable.

The more excuses you make about this being collateral damage, the less credible you are when complaining about the inevitable retaliation. Like i said, it's people like me who get screwed the most, because we get chit from both of you

Just a few days ago, the USA bombed a school in Syria:

More, the USA might have killed 46 people in a mosque in rebel held Syria (they deny this attack), where Al Qaeda affiliates have influence. Supposedly the USA is also backing the Rebels but that might have changed their position since Trump got into power.

This all happened within the space of what? Just a week?

Please provide a source for your claim that "civilian casualties have greatly increased since trump got into office".

Also you do realize this air strike was called in by the Iraqi army right?

Did any of you guys even read the article?

The Iraqi troops called in a US air strike to take out snipers on rooftops. The Iraqis didn't know ISIS had civilians in the building. US fulfilled on the air strike. 200 civilians die as a result.

Thats on ISIS guys, and look we have some people in this thread defending them.

Let me see if I got his straight.

An Iraqi calls in air strikes on ISIS combatants who went home to momma and the kids after their 8 - 5 job of crucifying, burning and beheading Christians...and it's America's fault.

What we have here is civilian terrorist force that puts their family in extreme danger with no regards for their safety, but is more than willing to fly their corpses up a flag pole for dramatic effect.

That's about as dumb as having a hostage situation in the US and then having the US military blow the entire building up with everyone in it and say "that's on the captor"
