LMAO you look exactly like me when I was just starting out, we hold fat in all the same areas. I'd say you are close to 25%, just from personal experience, and from your current weight, you'd have to drop at least 30lb to get to your goals. It is a tough situation, believe me I was there. Even at lower body fat percentages, you'll still have love handles and lower back fat, it is really frustrating. Eat maintenance and lift some heavy ass weight, if you are also like me, then your back will blow up faster than anything else, so hit loads of heavy deadlifts and weighed chin ups, it'll really help your mid section look some what decent.. It'll be a long grind, but you'll look amazing in a year! 3 months, losing weight, will only get you will annoying love handles, and looking like crap. You don't have enough mass to warrant a strict cut.
I wouldn't normally advise you so much, but you look exactly like me... or how I used to look at first. In my body space, I was 163lb 5'9 but that was last year, now I'm 163 again... and 5'9 of course, but with more muscle.. It takes a long arse time, but well worth it! Good luck.
People will always assume a lower bf because our upper-body tends to hold very litle fat, whereas our mid-section/glutes/inner thighs, and mid back, hold the fat. If you are like me, you have loads of stretch marks on your lats, inner thighs, and lower back. btw in my bodyspace pic I'm like 14-15% not 12% like I originally thought. It is a blessing and a curse.Last edited by Junsuiakai; 03-18-2017 at 07:01 PM.

Body Fat Estimate
Hi y'all. Could you please estimate my body fat percentage. I'm about 175 cms tall (5'9") and I weigh 70.5 Kgs (156 lbs).
I've lost over 12 Kgs in the past 6 months and it has been 2.5 months since I started lifting, but I'm still on a caloric deficit. Current Routine: Lift 4 times a week (Upper/Lower Split), 100 minutes of cardio/week (elliptical+running), Nutrition: 1400-1600 calories a day
I don't want to start bulking until I get rid of the freaking love handles (or should I consider it?). Any idea about how much weight I'll have to lose before I can get rid of that belly and those awful love handles?
Thank you.Last edited by bashibashi; 03-19-2017 at 02:21 AM.

Cutting some more fat at 25%-ish BF is typically fine. Not a lot of point in general cutting below 135-140 at 5'9" as a new lifter. If you aren't happy with the way you look by that point, more time under the bar tends to be a better solution than cutting further.
You have lost quite a bit of weight and started off on training. So stay positive. The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

Should i cut? I wanna be lean and reveal the muscle ive acquired even tho its not that much. I started benching 95lbs now i can bench 195lbs 3-4x. I can seated military press 135lbs 5x. I used to barely be able to do 85lbs. Can do alot of pullups and pushups from zero. Yet me not as lean as me wants.
Theoretically at 150lbs i should be lean. But thats light asf. Maybe i should start training legs lol. Add like 10lbs from noob gains.Last edited by blastedpotato; 03-20-2017 at 03:21 AM.
